He's my brother.Aiden's words resonated in my head. His brother? He never told me he had a brother. Then again Aiden never really spoke about his family, or anything at all for that matters.
Regarding his reaction, I could bet on my sixteen years that Aiden hadn't been aware of Alec's transformation.
Pity.
The car sped down the road of Hollington. Much to my stereotypical views, Hollington wasn't small or had the pungent smell of cows and faeces. In fact, Hollington was a wonderful community. The houses were large and beautiful, not farm-y as I had expected it to be. Yes there were large pastures with grazing cattle but other than that, it was a very affluent place.
Nothing about it spelled Aiden though. Aiden acted as though he had been raised in a monastery and I wouldn't have been surprised if we had arrived at the Shaolin Temple.
It was raining when the car came to a stop. We were infront of one of the biggest houses I had seen since arriving. It was painted baby blue and white, with a white picket-fence, a van parked at the side,a well manicured lawn and a large farm at the back.
Aiden rang the doorbell and we stood their awkwardly in the cold waiting for someone to open the door.
I thought Aiden would've just walked in.
"Coming!" A female voice rang from inside the house.
Aiden visibly relaxed beside me and small smile took over his face.
The door swung open to reveal a pretty brunette with a cute baby resting on her hips. She had a striking resemblance to Aiden.
"How may I-"
Her gray eyes widened when she saw Aiden.
"Aiden?"
"Katherine."
"Oh my God! Oh my God! Piper get down here!"
She placed the baby onto the carpeted floor and pulled Aiden into a heartwarming hug. Tears spilled from her eyes as she embraced him.
"I can't believe you're here," she hiccupped between sobs. After a few more crying sessions, she finally noticed us.
"Oh dear I'm so sorry," she wiped her eyes and picked up the baby,"Got caught up in the feels of seeing my younger brother. Didn't even remember it was raining! Do come in."
We did as we were told and stepped inside the warmth of the house. Our clothes dripped with water onto the carpeted floor.
"What's the rucus about?" Another female voice shouted from upstairs. Thundering feet came rushing down.
She had brown hair like Katherine's but it fell onto her shoulders in ringlets. Her eyes were a similar silvery grey but she was obviously younger than Katherine. Probably eighteen or so.
"I was video chatting with-"
She squealed when she saw Aiden, ran and jumped onto him- literally, despite his wet state.
He laughed- a genuine laugh and hugged the girl.
Aiden was a family man.
"Paige," he murmured into her hair. She finally let go.
"Dude, what happened to you?" Paige crinkled her nose as she took in his appearance.
"Tell you later," Aiden promised," For now... This is Leilani... Cade... Aeja and the Electi..."
