Chapter Twelve - Music

Toby's POV~

I woke up holding someone; she was asleep. I grabbed my glasses that were on the floor so I could finally know who I ... Slept with.

I turned around and sure enough, it was Emily.

Great! I hope Girl doesn't- right then and there, she walked in.

Girl's POV~

I saw Toby sitting up, naked, with Emily sleeping on the other side.

I was shocked. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Toby cheated on me...

Toby cheated on me...!

Toby CHEATED on me!

I just shook my head and slammed the door behind me.

Somehow, Seth found a way to let me cry in his arms.

Toby's POV~

GREAT! I looked over at Emily and shook my head.

What was I doing?! She was only 18!

I grabbed my clothes and put them on.

She turned over and spoke with a scratchy morning tone, "Seth...?"

She thought she had sex with Seth!

When she saw me, her eyes widened.

I'm pretty sure with her being a "fangirl," she wasn't disappointed.

"Oh... Oh my God, Toby... I'm ...I'm so sorry..." She started to hyperventilate.

I knew I shouldn't be mad at her--she didn't know it was me. She wouldn't have done it if she knew.

I tried calming her down, but she ran out of the room in her underwear.

Girl's POV~

Emily came out running to me, apologizing and begging for my forgiveness.

"Who could blame you?" I huffed, "It's the man's own fault that he's just that hothothot," I said with a sick, sarcastic snarl.

Emily just shook her head, said "I'm sorry" one last time, and ran for the gun on the table.

I got up, immediately trying to stop her.

But it was too late.

Bam.

She was gone.

Seth was hurt the worst... I'm guessing because he really liked her.

But it destroyed me and Toby because we did this to her.

We killed her. We did.

Toby ran his fingers through his hair, panicking.

Hours later, we buried her and tried to decide what to do next.

"Should we find Eric and April and question them?" I suggested.

Toby hated them for leaving his mom like that... I think he wanted to get payback.

"Actually, they left this." Seth handed a note to Toby.

It read,

She was slowing us down Toby. We had to get you guys away, it was her time anyways. I'm sorry we had to do this. Gabe and I are going to go our own way now. You'll thank us later, now that she isn't holding you back. Don't hate us, she had to go sooner or later.

-April and Eric

Toby swore under his breath and crumpled up the paper.

"What kind if friends were they that they could just go and kill some guy's mother?! They didn't have to! They didn't have to..." Then Toby broke down crying.

This is one hell of an end of the world.

~ A few days later~

Toby's POV~

"Are you ever going to forgive me!?" I shouted at her.

"God! You're such a pig!" She screamed back.

"I bet if I didn't walk in, you never would've said anything about it!" She screamed. Another one of our fights.

"What will it take to show you I love you again?!" I yelled back ready to cry.

"Show me how to lie you're getting better all the time and turning all against one is an art that's hard to teach, another cleaver word sets off an unexpected herd as you step back in the line, a problem we always have to defeat!' She screamed

"God you never even gave me a chance! And did you know I thought it was you!?" I screamed back.

"Oh, and now you steal away! Take me out today! You're probably thinking i'll say 'Nice work you did you're gonna go far.' With a thousand lies! And a good act, look me right in the eyes! When we walk away nothing more to say! You'll make me run for my life!" She shouted back at me.

"Slowly out of line and drifting closer in your sights, well play it out I'm wide awake! Don't make this a scene about me! There's something in your way and now you're making me pay if you can't get what you want 'it's all because of me' " I shouted

"And know what, you lead the way! Show the light of day. Oh yeah your gonna go far with a thousand lies. My trust is deceived!" She screamed.

"Listen I just want us to be okay today, I just I wanna feel something today. Open me up and you will see I'm a gallery of broken hearts. I just want to know we will be okay." I said trying to calm down.

"Some days I can't even trust myself..." She said in a calmer tone.

"It's killing me to see you this way." I said rubbing her arm.

"There's this voice in my head that's holding me back." She said scooting away.

"Soon it will all be over, buried with our past. We use to play our song when we were full of life and full of love." I said as she laid her self on me.

"Some days I feel I'm wrong when I am right." She said as I played with her hair.

"It's your mind playing tricks on you my dear." I wiped a hair out of her face and smiled at her.

She kissed me and said "I forgive you Tobes, just don't do it again."

I smiled and hugged her. We won't have to worry about anything for a long time.
