Saito-

It's been another week with no Claire. And Saito hasn't felt any pain. But he felt this numbness. It's like he and Claire have become separated. It's like she has broken the bond somehow. It's a horrible feeling. He wants to get Claire back and make her his woman.

"I know that feeling," Scott entered his office and looked around. "It's different; the clan has come a long way. The house used to be a one-level floor. Now it's two and bigger."

Saito nodded. "Each generation added a little to the house."

Scott rubs his chest. "That feeling, the numbness. It's what I felt when I couldn't find Irena—a disconnection. Even now, I feel it. Maybe because she reincarnated, our bond isn't there; it needs to be—completed. For you, it must be something else. They must be using some spell to control Claire. Or block the connection you have with her."

Saito forgot Scott has it worse. He has to do the bond again. But are they still soulmates?

"How do you know Irena is still your soulmate?"

Scott smiled. "I don't," he chuckled. "She could belong to someone else. But if she's still mine, I'll ensure she has a secure life. I won't fail her again. And I'll bring back the Dark Sun clan back. I don't know if you know this, but I created the Crimson clan with the remainder of my people."

"If you knew about the woman and children, why as Xavier?" Saito asked.

Scott smiled. "I wanted to see his honesty."

Saito sighed. "I don't understand; why didn't Irena stay with you to begin with? Why did she marry that bastard?"

Scott looks away for a moment. "No one knows this, not even Xavier, but Duke forced himself on Irena. She was going marry me, and that bastard raped her. Even though Irena and I had completed the bond, Irena returned to tell Zeus about our relationship. She came back bruised and ashamed. Irena felt ashamed for what had happened to her. We tried to work it out, but she was pregnant with Duke's son. I told her I would raise her son as mine. But she left, leaving me a letter."

Scott didn't think Irena had such a horrible life.

"For months, I didn't hear from her," he sighed. "You see, time here and there isn't the same. For her, it feels like years. When she finally reappeared, she looked different. She looked worn out; her glow wasn't there anymore. We met, and she told me everything that had happened. Her life was horrible. Now that her sons were adults, she couldn't take it anymore. I didn't let her go this time. We got married and spent a lot of time together. And then she became pregnant. We were happy; we were having a little girl. I knew it." His smiles faded. "Being reincarnated is the best thing that could've happened to her. But I guess she's desperate to get our daughter."

Saito sat there thinking about the angels needing a change of laws. Or more restrictions against each other. No forced marriages or forced sex. Zeus needs to clean those angels up and refine the laws.

Saito groaned.

Scott chuckled. "Relax, if you agitate yourself, you'll become a mindless wolf. That's how I became lost."

"What if Dom forces himself on Claire?" Saito asked.

"Dom?" Scott said. "Irena told me a lot about the angels and of the rotten ones. Dom was one of them. He wasn't a nice person. Irena told me he harassed the newcomers. When a good human dies, they have options: they can reincarnate or become an angel. If they become an angel, they also have the option of starting from zero. Either reverting to the infant and being raised in the nursery. Or they could be born from the womb. Anyways, for those who didn't choose to revert—their memories get wiped, and they start their life as newcomers. Dom harassed them, sometimes corrupting them by forcing them into sex."
