"Don't worry about it." He replied aggressively. "Jason, when a person tells you don't worry about something obviously their gonna worry." I snapped. "Just don't worry about it, God dammit!" He replied. "You scared to tell her?" Daniel asked. "I'm not scared of nothing." He snapped back. "Then prove it, tell her. It's not gonna protect her, she's already part of your life and will be a target to others. Plus, she's fragile. I could break her in a million pieces, you won't even be able to put back together." "If you ever fucking lay your hands on her." Jason said as he immediately released his fingers from my hand and went towards Daniel when I quickly held him back. "Nah, let him go. He'll just never find out about Alex." He replied. Jason's face looked horrified. "Who's Alex?" I asked confusingly. "What about Alex?" He said aggressively. "He's not dead, Jason." He replied. "He's-no, your lying." Jason said beginning to stutter. "And if I wasn't?" He said beginning to chuckle. "Your a fucking asshole, ya know that Daniel? If you don't fucking tell me where he is I swear to God, I'll kill you." Jason snapped. "You wouldn't kill anyone in front of Avery, Jason. We both know that." He replied. Daniel's phone began to buzz as he reached for his back pocket and looked at his screen. "We'll finish this later." He replied as he began to walk off. "Oh and Avery-" he said as I looked up to see him grin and then left. Jason looked upset, actually beyond upset he was about to break any minute. "Let's get you home." He replied. "No, let's talk about this first." I said bringing him back towards me. "What's there to talk about?" He asked. "Everything." I snapped back. "Everything like what? Us?" He snapped. "There's no us, there can't be an us!" He added. "Jason, I-" "And as much as you try to fucking help, you can't and you won't." He replied. "I wasn't trying to help you, Jason." I replied, "Then what the fuck were you trying to do?" He asked. I stayed quiet and continued walking. "Where are you going?" "Home. Have fun looking for Alex." I replied. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back aggressively, "I'm trying to protect you." He replied. "If you were then you wouldn't be hurting me the way you are now." I said releasing my hand from his and started to walk away. "Avery, come back." He shrieked, but I ignored him and kept walking. "Avery, come back." He repeated as he followed me. I didn't know where I was walking for sure, but I needed to get away from him. Almost every piece in my body was about to break, and destruct. The words hurt, it hurt badly. He never cared, and never will. "Avery, I-", "Nice to see you again, guys. How's life?", I started to breath heavily as I backed up into Jason as he held me. "Avery, you don't seem happy to hear from me.", "It's not everyday you see someone that shoots your mother and runs off." I replied. He stepped one foot closer to us, "I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to talk to you." He replied softly. "Get the hell out of here before I kill you." Jason shrieked. "I see you haven't changed, have ya Jason?" He replied. "Why do you want to talk to me? There's nothing to talk about?" I asked aggressively. I started to get chills and my stomach was turning and I continued to breathe heavily. "It's about Skylar." He replied, "What about her?" I asked. "There's rumors going around that she's been seen around town, no one knows for sure if its someone that looks like her, or-" "Really is her?" "Exactly." He responded. I started to breathe heavily, "But she can't be alive, it's not possible." I said looking up at Jason confusingly. "She was dead, the doctors pronounced her dead!" I shrieked. "-she couldn't have risen from the fucking dead." I added. "Not unless she's Jesus." Jason mumbled and started to chuckle. "I don't know Av, that's what I heard, but from the looks of it you have to watch out." He replied. "-You know Skylar, but you also know how mysterious and cunning she is, if she is really alive then no one is safe. Even you and Jason." He added. "How do we know this isn't some joke?" Jason asked conceringly. "Trust me, Skylar was my least favorite person to cope with, I'm taking this way different then you guys are." He replied, "-But for now Avery, I think you should stay in California." He replied. "Who told you I was here?" I asked. "It doesn't matter right now, it's best no one knows were you are." He replied. "Why the sudden change of heart?" Jason asked aggressively, "Because unlike you Jason, I can put my past away and try to fix the pieces that have been broken along the way, but you-you, keep the pieces broken and make them shatter. It's funny because you and Alex look just alike, but your traits are nothing alike." He replied. "-His name was Alex, right?" He added when Jason firmly let go of me and pushed Jeremy towards the hood of his car and slammed his back against it and had him in a choke hold. "Don't ever say his name again." "Who are you scared for? Yourself?" "-Or Avery because you know he'll do exactly what he did to Sarah." He added. "I-I thought Jesse only went after Sarah?" I replied. "-S-so, Alex is your brother. You were afraid to tell me about your brother and his past?" I asked aggressively. "I wanted to protect you." He repeated. "If you want to protect me, then stop lying to me and keeping secrets." I shrieked. "I need to get out of here." I replied and walked past them. "Where are you going?" Jason said as he let go of Jeremy. "Far away from you as possible." I responded. "Avery, come back." He said beginning to frown. "I'm sorry." He replied. I tried to fight the tears and firmly said "Me too." and ran off.
