"I can explain." Phaeton began. "Wait a minute... I don't even have to explain it to you."

"Was she good?" They turned to the chuckle at the door to see Idon leaning against the door frame.

"Shut up."

"What?" Idon walked inside, still grinning. "She's hot."

"She's 'old'." Aidon nudged his cousin. "Wait... Where's Dia?!" Aidon stood up immediately.

"Relax. She just went to-"

"Fuck no." Aidon rushed out leaving a very confused and curious Idon behind with his teacher. What class does she have first anyway? Fuck no, she's in homeroom...

He was about to hurry off to Dia's homeroom when he was suddenly interrupted by the young blonde woman in front of him. She had first dated his cousin, and now she was aiming for him.

"Oh gods no." He muttered under his breath.

"Hey Aidon." Jenna Drew smiled up at him, batting her eyelashes faster than one normally would. Her lips were covered in a matte pink coat and she smiled wider, knowing he noticed. "I was wondering if you would be free today after school for some extra revision on Greek? You know I'm still so weak at it ha ha." She added a fake little laugh at the end.

"I'm really busy right now." He tried to move away but she stopped him.

"I need the answer now." She glared at him harshly. Really girl? Dominance? Who're you trying to control? He wanted to use his light draining on her but didn't as she was a mortal and doing so would reveal himself somewhat. Or leave her with something he could not explain to her. As long as they would see each other daily, he could not do it. What would he say to her anyway? It's not like he wanted to stay at school... Or go to her place. Going places meant he had to drag Dia along too.

"Fine. Come over after school then." He said to her with his voice lowered before he pushed past her and hurried off to find Dia.

"Great thanks. I'll be there." She yelled after him. How long had she been alone anyway? How ever long it had been, he knew that his father would have done something to her. He froze at the doorway of the class. Her class teacher, Mr. Smith, was explaining something on the board. His eyes scanned over the classroom as everyone froze to look at him. Everyone except Dia. She sat in her seat, slightly turned to her bright eyed friend who froze and stared at him in shock, much unlike the other students. Dia's eyes floated over her gaze and turned to see Aidon at the door, his expression showing that he was definitely worried.

"May I help you, Mr...?" Mr. Smith began. He knew this student. Of course he would. Everyone did. But now that he thought about it... Who knew his last name?

"Black. Aidon Black." Aidon quickly muttered the first thing that came into his mind.

"Buddy you're the last thing from black as one would ever be-" a guy in the classroom began to mock Aidon.

"Shut up." Dia's tone made the guy freeze and cower immediately. Aidon turned to her.

"I... Need to..." He looked at the teacher who was looking at him expectantly. "I need to see Ms. Grand." He finished. Some girls were disappointed as he had mentioned the prettiest girl in class. They had no chance now.

"May I ask why?" Mr. Smith questioned. Gods these teachers and their stupid enquiries to know everything.

"Mr. Phaeton's looking for her." He finished up.

"Really? Because Mr. Phaeton told me he would-"

"Just let me see him, Mr. Smith." Dia began sweetly. Her words made the teacher turn to her and Aidon could swear he could hear the man's thoughts.

Stop fawning over my future mate.

Aidon cursed at himself. Who even put that into his head?! Dia stood up and walked out of the classroom to stand in front of him with anger in her eyes which were clouded out by her love-sick desire for him.

"You're meant to stick with me. Anywhere you go without me is a place my father has the potential to attack you. And my father does not rest." Aidon hissed in a hushed tone.

"What about the last five minutes huh? I was most definitely safe. You cannot possibly think tha-" her words were cut off as they heard a loud sound from the classroom. They both took a step towards it and peered in. Dia's mouth hung open as she stared at her desk, now a mess of broken wood and metal. The fan overhead had broken and fallen onto her seat.

"My father is 'Death' Aphrodia and he will hurt you." Aidon was not shocked in how his father has executed the plan. The fan would have never killed her but caused her a great deal of pain and bleeding that she could not get over soon.

"Oh my..." She muttered softly.

"Listen. You're coming with me to all of my classes and I want you to use your charmspeak to get out of any questions." Aidon grabbed her hand, pulling her away.

"How would I do that?" She squeaked, definitely scarred now that Death wanted her and she had witnessed just how badly he did.

"Are you fucking serious. You use it all the time. Just woo your way into their hearts with your cutesy bitchy little words." She could sense a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "And who was that bastard who started to make fun of me?"

"His name's Dave. He hit on me on first day and I charmspeaked him and set him off after some other lame ass girl." Dia rolled her eyes.

"You don't charmspeak to set people up. When you set people's emotions on fire, you're creating love in them. I don't even know what it's called but you can do that because of your mother." His hand sort of tightened their grip on the mention of Aphrodite on Dia's hand in a way that hurt her.

"Why do you hate my mother so much?" She asked softly.

She was answered by silence.
