Aidon ran with the soul, holding on tightly. Opening the gates, he rushed up the stairs. The sea line was visible as a ceiling to the area and Kylie stared, amazed.
"What is going on?!" She asked as they neared the ocean line.
"I have no time to explain I wish I did but I really need to get you back before my father notices you're missing." He rose from the water and landed back on the beach. Kylie rose right after, gasping for air. She was highly confused and scared.
"Your father?" She breathed as he led her to his car.
"Yes. My father. Look, I really can't explain. When you wake up, things might be different. Everything. I'm going to take this time to tell you how much I love you I'm only doing this because I love you I'm sorry I kissed you I should have never done that I'm just... So confused." His eyes started to water as the car drove off. "I don't know what I'm doing I'm scared I'm doing the wrong thing I'm worried."
"What are you doing?" She asked, eyes full of worry.
"Bringing you back to life." He breathed.
"What?!" She gasped. "Aidon what are you hiding from me? Why do you look like you? Aren't you dead too?" She was starting to cry.
"Gods, Kylie I really wish I could tell you but I just can't ok. Someday I will I just... Gods, Kylie." He grabbed her arm and pulled her into a kiss. He knew this would be the only time he can as he wouldn't even touch her after she was back to life. He couldn't risk it. She can't die when she was already dead.
The kiss felt different. It wasn't like the ones with Dia. Dia made him want her, she was inviting and breaking into his heart. The kiss he was sharing with Kylie right now...
He almost felt nothing. He was holding her close and being close to her felt safe. He missed her. When they parted, Kylie glanced at him shyly.
"Um..." This would be the first time he had kissed her. "I... I just... It was nice in the Isles..." She said slowly.
"Okay." He answered softly, holding her close to him. He just needed to feel her now.
The car stopped in front of the cemetery Kylie had been buried in. He climbed out of the car and hurried inside. Kylie followed slowly. It was late at night and no one was around so he stopped at the grave and put out his palm. Tears started to pool at his eyes as he turned his palm upwards while fisting it and yanked it to his shoulder as hard as he could. The coffin rose above the ground in a hard force, blowing sand and soil everywhere. Kylie stared, almost scared.
"What are you...?" She breathed. The coffin opened and in it lay a nearly fully decayed body. He didn't look at it as he placed the fleece on top of it but she did and her hands flew to her mouth in shock.
"A God..." He said softly, not looking at her as the fleece dragged her soul back into her body which was slowly growing back. When her skin grew pink and warm and her face brightened, she gasped and sat up, throwing her eyes open. She was scared as she looked around. "K-Kylie?" Aidon said slowly. Painfully slowly.
"Aidon..." She said to him. "Where am I...?" Her hands flew to her, trying to see if she was alright. "How did I get here I just..." She looked at him. "I remember you kissing me... I went to sleep... Then I just woke up here..." He had to make up an excuse. He cleared his throat. "I had the weirdest dream I can't even remember most of it, it's so hazy... I passed judgment and I was dead?"
"Kylie... You... You got kidnapped..." He sighed. He had never lied to her–only kept the truth–but lying right now felt indifferent. He didn't feel bad. "They tried to bury you alive I... I dug you out." He helped her up and out of the coffin. Her legs were weak and wobbly. "It's been two years.." He walked her to his car, subtly waving his hand behind him towards the coffin, silently pushing it back into the earth. "Everyone thinks you're dead you can't... You can't see anyone. Your parents have moved to another town your friends left for college... You just..." He stopped talking. Maybe it was too much for her to take in right now. The car drove them to his place where she would be staying from then on. He led her into his lavish home and got her to a room. He would have offered to have her sleep in his room but she did not hold her spot in his heart anymore and it almost saddened him.
Almost.
"Rest well, Kylie." He said to her before walking back to his car. He had to inform his parents of something.

He wrote them a letter stating why he could no longer stay. He had to look after Dia, worried she might get attacked. He also put in the part where a soul tried to escape but he had taken care of it so if Hades felt a soul was missing, it wasn't. He hoped his father would believe him. He returned the fleece and left the letter on his parents' bed before he left.

Aidon returned back home to find his mother leaving.
"You're home?" She asked, confused. "I just put Dia to bed we had a lovely time in the game room." Persephone laughed.
"She might get attacked so I'm deciding to stay here until I can bring her to the Underworld officially." Aidon explained.
"She's done fine the past few days but yes if you really must..." Persephone winked. "She certainly is worth it."
"Thank you, mother." He said to her as she left, chuckling to herself. He watched her leave through the trees. He had to learn how to touch a plant without killing it. How stupid of a gift was it to be given the ability to take away life when your other ability was to give it?
He walked over to the room he had given to Kylie. He knew that she must be scared and confused but there was nothing he could do for her. To spend time with her again, he had brought her back, knowing the cost and he was no longer happy with his decision because even he, a God, wasn't spared from the catch of retrieving a soul.
He watched her from the doorway as she lay on the bed. She had changed into some clothes inside the wardrobe; a t-shirt and some loose jeans and was now lying down, facing away from the door. He entered and closed the door behind him, walking up to the bed and not sitting down. She realized he was here and she sat up, turning to him. Her light blonde curls were as gorgeous as always and her face lively again. She gave him a small smile.
"What happened?" She asked. She patted the spot on the bed as she bent her knees and hugged them together with her hands on top of the blanket. "To me I mean." She said softly as he sat down on the bed.
"You... You got kidnapped. An year later they sent... Um... Pictures of your dead body to everyone..." He lied without a second thought. "I was just... Driving past the cemetery when I saw some men attempting to bury you. I don't know I just hid behind the bushes and got you out just on time." He hoped she would believe him. His clothes were stained with dirt after all when he got her out. But now for her he felt nothing. All that effort seemed worthless now.
And he regretted it so much.
"Oh... Thank you for saving me."
"I did what I had to..." He said slowly, realizing the graveness of what he had done.
He remembered the lines on the book.
But be warned; the reason for which you are retrieving the soul of the mortal, will be lost.
He no longer felt a thing for Kylie.
