Friendship.

This was the first time he ever heard that from a girl... A girl who wasn't Kylie.

"No." Aidon went back to leaning against the tree again when she leaned in forward.

"You can't resist me." Her voice went low and seductive. She might not have Dia's powers which weren't effective on him but her seduction was working wonders. He knew he was attracted to her.

"And if I did?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

"Then you must be a God." She joked but he froze anyway. It wasn't the joke that alerted him but the tone in her voice as she said the word God.

"Fucking atheist." He threw at her carelessly.

"Atheist?" She questioned, her laughter dying down as she resumed smiling. "I might make jokes about God but I do believe in them."

"That's..." Something screamed inside his mind. It was alerting him of something but he couldn't place what. He turned his attention back to the girl. "Lame." He finished.

"You seem distant." She raised her eyebrows at him.

"Are we going?" Dia's voice seemed awfully close so he looked up to see her standing in front of him, arms crossed against her chest and a look of annoyance on her face. Why was she so irritated? "Or are you too caught up with your new lady friend."

Ah... Right...

"Jealousy's not pretty on you." He muttered in Greek as he stood up and began to lead her away.

"See you tomorrow Dia." Hera called as they walked away.

"I am not jealous." She hissed through clenched teeth. "I don't know about you but I don't like her anymore."

"What do you mean 'anymore'?" Aidon asked as they slipped into the car.

"I used to really like her up till just then. She thinks you're my fiancé. Why was she trying to hit on you."

"She was not hitting on me she was just-"

"Hitting on you."

"No."

"Yes."

"Why does it concern you anyway."

"Because you told her I was your fiancée I expect you to pay me some respect at that stage."

"So what if I did like her?" His words made her mouth hang open. Why did he avoid her statement just like that? "What if I told you that I actually am attracted to her. More than a friend. I could easily throw this fling arou-"

"That's not like you. Flings aren't your thing." She protested.

"What do you know about my 'things'."

"I know enough."

"From tomorrow I have exactly 365 days to do whatever I want with who ever I want I might as well make the best of it."

"I... I..." Dia stared at Aidon, dumbfounded. "Listen up boy." She grabbed him by the collar and pulled him close to her so that he was only inches away from her face. He could see the anger in her eyes as they turned a blazing red, like a living fire. The aura emanating from her was something new. Something he never sensed before.

Attraction to a Goddess.

It was almost painful.

"You; are bound to me. I don't have to be eternally tied to you for you to commit to me. If you are meant to be with me, you will. You will only think about me, only be with me," he realised she was speaking in ancient Greek. "And you most certainly will never-EVER-cheat on me."

"Aphrodia?" He managed to slip out her name in a small whimper. Weren't her powers meant to be ineffective on him?

What is happening?!

'My daughter is.' The voice was womanly, alluring, soothing and inside his head. 'Don't think I'm not watching boy.'

Aphrodite. She was weakening him. She was making him vulnerable to her daughter's powers. Hadn't she meddled with his feelings enough?! Rage took over as he released himself from her grip and slammed his hand against the door of the car on his side. The car suddenly came to a halt as the metal began to wither.

"Fuck no." She breathed as she tried to push the roof of the car up. Her strength weakened as a little bit of the roof revived itself but collapsed anyway.

ΞΞΞΞΞΞΞ

"Have a pleasant day tomorrow, Aphrodia." Aidon muttered quietly as she lay on her bed, asleep. He was sorry that she got hurt but he couldn't muster up the courage to say it to her. He had never been one to apologize. It was her birthday and she was recovering from the damage he had done. How could he have been that stupid as to destroy his own car?

Of course, it never really occurred to him that he could destroy things without a life. Like metal.

But Dia could heal metal, couldn't she? She was Hephaestus's daughter. Surely she could have done it.

He shouldn't have expected so much from her. She was only a child.

He slipped into the bed beside her and lay right next to her, not touching her.

"17 huh..." He mumbled. "You're still a kid though." He turned his head to face her. "A very pretty kid." He sighed. "I could be a pedo."

What?

"You're only two years older stop dreaming." She mumbled softly. She had been out for nearly 7 hours. "Your fantasies are so weir-"

"It isn't a fantasy of mi-"

"Sure." She opened her eyes and smiled before going serious. "Sh-Should I be worried to find you in my bed?"

"You idiot." He sighed, sitting up. She got up right after but winced in pain and drew back. He turned to her and wondered if he should continue being cold-hearted with her.

Nah. He should really stop that.

"You really are an idiot. You get jealous, you're a sarcastic arrogant bitch with too much sass up her ass, you're not in control of your powers and you clearly cannot tell when you're hurt and meant to be resting."

"I'm not hurt." She protested. He sighed in defeat knowing he couldn't argue with her. She managed to move slowly and surprise him by throwing her arms over his shoulders from the back and leaning against him, her face almost buried into his neck. "I suppose I could have some sass lowered down." She mumbled, her breath warm on his skin. "And getting jealous... I really do like you... Even if you are a cold-hearted rude asshole sometimes."

"Hey-"

"I try... I'm trying to change for you. To be like how you want. To be what you want. I'm trying to please you." He didn't answer her. He had no answer for her. He realised why he was attracted to her. Not because of her powers. But because of her. The effort she was putting into it. What she was doing to prove she was worth it.

As for not liking her?

Maybe it was because she was too much like him.

And he was the last he wanted to fall in love with.
