"Is she alive?"
"How long will she be out for?"
"She has so many wounds!"
"Will she make it?"
"Are there more survivors?"
"What happen to her?"
"where did you find her?"
"how did she get her?"
Hearing all these questions being fired in rapid fire mode brought me to my senses. Although my vision machines (eyes) can open, I lack the will power to open them. Let's just say it's a post fainting effect. My ears slightly tinge with pain due to the loud voices or it was my ultra sensitive hearing sense.
"Slow down will all of you, I only know as much as you know," says an over powering authoritative voice, "we found her being carried by the chap while we went to check where the loud sound came from, seemed they were survivors like us so we brought them here."
"We found them no far from a scene of a plane crash, it was completely wrecked and these two were fortunate to survive however she did get some injuries to her head." says a soft loving voice as if it had honey coated around it.
"You do know that I can hear all that you are talking and know that it's about me," I say with a croaky voice, "...where am I and how did I get here?"
"You don't remember what come about?" she pauses as I shake my head and she passes me a bottle of water.
"Feel better or still off?"
"I feel regret, grief, relief, pain, confused; I don't know where to place that," I say as my eyes tear up.
"I know how you feel, you will eventually cope up for now you need to put your feet up and relax," she says to me soothingly as she ushers the others to follow her out of the tent.
I lie back down, shut my eyes and try to remember what passed by. I come with memories of being carried by someone in front of a large fire as my eyes are half open and head pounds. Within a second, I stand up and feel a pain strike throughout my leg as rush outside my cozy tent.
"Where is he, is he alright, please tell me he is alive?" I ask dreadfully to the sweet lady I saw earlier in my tent.
"Calm down sweetie, he's fine just a few wounds and is in that tent however you shouldn't put so much stress on your leg," she relieves me of my anxiety as she points to the tent next to mine.
I take a breath of relief and dash towards the tent that was opposite mine. I enter it cautiously and see him on his lying on his back as his looks above trying to figure something out.
"Quit staring at me it's weird and shouldn't you be on bed rest?"
"Well I was supposed to be but I wanted to see how you doing, are you holding up okay?"
"I should be asking you that, how are you coping along with everything?"
"I'm handling my wounds so far and there is a pretty big piece of my memory missing before you know...you picked me up after I fainted?" I say as I feel a slight blush appear on my cheeks.
I subconsciously shift my weight from my wounded leg to the other due to the numbness it had caused to it and slightly let out a quiet cry of pain.
"You can sit on this bed if you want to, don't want your leg to break into two now, do we?"
I look at him then take his suggestion, I take a sit on the far end of the bed almost where the folded checkered blanket was.
He chuckles slightly, "I don't know why you are looking at me like I'm going to hit or bite you... I'll only do that if you want me to," he adds quietly causing me to swat his chest.
To that he lets out a paining groan indicating that I hit a fresh injury causing me to gasp in surprise and move closer to him.
"I'm so sorry I didn't know you had an injury there, do you need ice or something?"
"Don't sweat it, I'm okay and I don't think you'll find ice here," he says with a slight smile as he sits up, "however you could get me some water."
"Sure," I smile in reply, it is actually the first time I see him smile.
I go across the tent to the table and pick up a bottle of water and I'm about to hand it to him when I see him lift his shirt to inspect his wounds on his chest. There were so many gashes, bruises and cuts on just his chest which caused me to wonder how many were on him totally.
"Gosh, those are so many, how did you get them?" I ask flabbergasted.
"The same way you did; the crash."
"What crash?" as I say that a small flashback happens causing me to faintly lose my balance.
"Wooh, let go and forget what I said!" he says after he grabs hold of me by my upper hand and settles me onto his bed.
"Thanks, this is the second time this has happened to me and it always leaves me confused."
"Just let it go for now."
"Your water by the way," I handed him the bottle filled to the brim with water.
I then see more cuts on his arm, they looked as if they were made by thorns on trees or shrubs.
"You need to put ointment or some sort of medical thing on your wounds, they could become infected."
"Well isn't Ms. Perfect also Ms. Nerd!"
"Whatever Mr. Daft head," I announce as I leave the tent to go look for a doctor, such camps usually have one.
I eventually find one and she gives me the ointment we both needed. She tells me when and how to apply it.
Sitted on his bed, I try to apply the ointment to my leg without crying like a baby. Let me tell you that this ointment burnt like jalapeños. It isn't easy to put that on cuts and scratches but I don't have an option so I put on my brave face and apply it to the cuts. I also just realized that I have stitches on my leg. I'm on the lucky side of the wand because I have fewer wounds so I'm in less pain however the same can't be said for him. If I hadn't been there I'm sure he would have cried like a little mommy's boy who has just been bullied. He tries to hold in the pain but the constipated look on his face makes me topple over in laughter and I fall of the bed. I decide to have pity on him and leave him to cry peacefully.
"Cry freely child, don't hold it in!" I tease as I exit the tent with a wide smile.
