Jay

==One month later==

I was seriously worried about Finn. Every night he drank himself to sleep, and at school he wasn't his usual self. He was quieter than usual and didn't pay any attention to girls. He would just push them away and tell them to fuck off.

Ever since Angelina left, my best friend's been a mess. I needed to do something about it, fast.

"Hello?" the voice on the other side of the phone said.

"Cass, it's Jay."

"Oh my god, Jay. I need your help! Have you seen Finn lately? I talked to him about prom earlier and he said he wasn't going!"

"That's it!" I exclaimed.

I explained my plan to her, getting more and more excited.

"Oh my god, you're a genius! You're driving, though."

---------------

We pulled up in front of a white townhouse and rang the doorbell. An old woman opened the door and smiled at us warmly.

"Hi, uh, is Angelina here?" I asked.

"Of course, she's in her room. Second door to the left."

She ushered us in and Cass and I headed down the hallway. My stomach was doing somersaults. Cass knocked on the door.

"Aunty I already told you I don't want a muffin!" came Angelina's muffled voice.

"It's Cass and Jay," I said.

The door flew open. Angelina was standing there holding a bottle of beer staring at us. She was wearing a big gray t-shirt over a pair of lacy black lingerie. Her long brown hair was in a messy bun and her blue eyes lit up when they saw us.

"Holy crap," she threw her arms around us, "I missed you guys so freaking much!"

"I'm surprised you're not at school," Cass said after hugging Angelina for what seemed like hours.

"I dropped out to focus on modeling," she shrugged.

I had found out about Angelina's job through the magazines scattered in Finn's room.

"Do you think that you could possibly make it to Seattle this Friday?" Cass asked hopefully.

Angelina's eyes filled with pain and she rubbed her face. I could already tell that she was thinking of Finn.

I looked around her room. There were a few liquor bottles--definitely not as bad as Finn--and pictures of the four of us. A picture of she and Finn kissing was on her nightstand.

"I don't know..." she whispered.

"Please? We hardly see you and we miss you like crazy. Pretty please?" Cass whined.

"I guess. Yeah, I'll come," she said.

Perfect. Now for step two, I had to go shopping.

---------------

Cass and I hung the clothes in her closet and grinned. It felt so good helping out other people.

"I can't believe this is actually working!" Cass gushed, "they're going to be so happy."

I smiled too and went to check on Finn. He was lying on his bed, clutching one of Angelina's shirts in his hand and downing a bottle of vodka. If only he knew that we'd seen Angelina yesterday.

"Get outta here Jayyy," he slurred.

"Finn! Look at yourself! What happened to you?"

He looked sadly at Angelina's shirt and took another gulp of the liquor. I watched him drain it then move on to another bottle. He put the shirt over his face and leaned back.

"Damn you, Finn," I muttered.

I walked out of his room and got into my car. He wouldn't even talk to me. Oh well, I thought to myself, he'll be better soon.
