Lani POV

The day after the dinner, I left Hakeem's house cause I had studio time with Cookie and for the past couple day's, I've just been tryna work on my music and haven't really seen Hakeem unless we pass each other at Empire. I'm actually at empire right now with Cookie.

"I just got my office so you wanna come with me to fix it up cause I doubt Lucious did anything in there" Cookie said

"Yeah, sure"

We walked to her office and when she opened the door her first words were

"What in the hell..."

"This is your office..?" I added

"Now we gotta find Lucious.. The hell he thought he was giving me a damn closet as an office."

I followed her down the hall and into the Lucious' office. Before we entered the room we could hear Lucious yelling

"His album drops here and Empire goes public!" he started talking about something else then Cookie barged in with me behind her the first person I noticed was Hakeem.

"Lemme tell you what I want.  What i want is a better office not a broom closet on the thirteenth floor next to accounting. And I would also like to have food benefits for my assistant and singers" Cookie said

"Look Cookie I will work on getting you a better office but right now I need you to leave mine so I can do my job."

"Yeah cause Jamal and Kehlani here need all the Help they can get." Anika added

...Nigga what?

"Bitch what?? I need all the help I can get?"

"Yeah.. pretty much." Anika said

"You the one who's been working on gettin his damn album to drop for months now while I've only been at Empire for about a week and I'm already about to have my album out"

"If they would have just been listening to me, his album would be out now." Lucious said

"Listen to ya daddy Anika" Cookie said then got in Hakeem's face saying

"And Hakeem, you need to stop rappin like you from the streets cause you not bout that life. You wanna know why Kehlani's got all these hits and No apologies was so big? It's cause she sings about what's real to her and No apologies was real for you, You rapped from here"

she hit his chest then said "Stay there"

Anika started laughing like a weirdo so Cookie looked at her and said

"Where's your office Boo Boo Kitty? You know what, you could just put me up in her office, I would know what a king needs. And it's not some Debutante with a bougie ear who doesnt wanna disturb her pearls"

I laughed a lil and Hakeem turned his attention toward me, I just looked at him then looked at lucious who began speaking

"What I want is for everyone to be talking about Empire until this IPO is launched. What I want is for everyone talking about Hakeem and Kehlani. And what I want most of all is for you to get the hell out of my office!" he said.

Cookie said "Let's go Kehlani." then we walked out and back to her office to start setting up everything.  I noticed her hanging up some records that looked like the one's in the hall before Lucious' office

"Aren't they the one's outside of Lucious' office?"

"Yes, but they're mine. I produced all of these"

"You good"
