Painful Secret

People think you live the American dream,

When actually your body is at war with itself,

Memories of good times bring tears to your eyes,

Depression will eat you alive like Hydrochloric acid,

Back against the wall with no where to turn ,

Feeling shunned by flesh and blood no one listens,

Everyday you wake up and put on a smile to shadow the pain,

Losing hope  because the journey is painful and they mock your hurt,

Fake happiness covers the truth being asked are you ok,

Fighting the urge to say no, fearing that your pain will be burden,

Your life is no bed of roses but more like that of knives deep in your back,

Anxiety makes your heart race blood pressure rockets through the ceiling,

You sit wondering how much longer will the suffering go on,

The secret is too painful to be held inside so you break down,

Bursting out from the roof top years of heart ache,

Weight of the world lifted off your shoulders,

When people found out they were shocked,

But no one cared from the beginning,

They never knew that your painful secrets were winning,

You survived even though the desire of giving up almost pushed you off the edge,

All hope is not lost for you shall continue winning the battle of life until you are dead,

Never give up ignore the non encouraging words surfing through the mind.
