Harry had not thought any of this through. Severus was the definition of pissed off. He was ignoring Harry but Harry just continued to plan a party the best he could with so little time. Hermione was not as angry as Harry thought she would be. She was just mad about the short notice. She actually invited people. She sent out many invites while Harry asked Dobby to prepare party food for the next day.

That night, Severus crawled into bed with Harry and kissed Harry's shoulder. "I'm sorry." Severus murmured. "I shouldn't have been angry."
Harry forgave him instantly.

Everything was going well. The next day consisted of planning and preparing. As night approached, music started to play through the house and witches and wizards began to appear, stepping out of the fireplace.

Severus wasn't there. He was known as a 'traitor' and frankly, he didn't want to be there. He stayed home with Remus. They were getting along quite well.

Hermione invited quite a few people from school. Soon the living room was filled with familiar faces. Harry wasn't sure why Hermione was doing this but he didn't question it. He allowed it to happen and greeted people.

When Fred and George arrived, they were the life of the party. Everyone had missed them.

As the party progressed, Fred pulled Harry off into a bedroom where it was quiet. "Thanks for inviting me. I'm actually having fun." Fred grinned. "I also want you to know, I'm not angry about that night. I guess I kind of understand."

Harry smiled back at Fred and felt weird being alone with him but tried not to show it. "Thanks." Harry said, shoving his hands in his pockets.

A silence filled the room and Fred sighed. "I have to ask you. Who are you with? You said he hurt you and that's why you... That's why we... Ya know. Can I know who it is."

Harry bit his lip. He didn't know if he should tell Fred. It was a 'secret.' Kind of. Harry sighed. "Can you promise to not freak out?" Harry asked.

Fred was expecting Ron. It made sense. Ron hurt Harry so Harry slept with his brother. So Fred nodded to tell Harry to go on.

"Dumbledore wanted me to have extra protection. So he wanted me to court Snape. And I agreed. Then I actually started to date Severus. And I love him." Harry looked up and Fred had a nonchalant face but his eyes were filled with disgust. He nodded his head.

"You're mad?" Fred asked calmly, after an awkward silence fell over the room. "You have to be mental."

Harry wasn't mad at Fred. He knew this was weird. He was in love with the potions master. But Harry couldn't allow Fred to think badly about their relationship. "You don't know him." Harry stated. "Sev is different. He's amazing..." Harry trailed off, thinking about Severus. He really was amazing. And loving. He was everything Harry wanted. But who would understand that?

"Whatever Harry." Fred waved it off. "Thanks for the invite and all that again." Fred left Harry alone in that room.

The party ended shortly after that. Harry stayed in the bedroom. It was Regulus's room. No one was using it. It just sat, gathering dust. Harry sat in a chair and looked around the ancient room. He wondered if after the war, when Harry no longer needed protection, would they stay together. Would Sev still love him? Harry knew he'd always love Severus. No matter what happened.

Harry thought for a long time. Whether they would have kids, where they would live... Harry didn't even know what they would do after the war. Would Sev still want to teach? What would Harry want to do? Harry didn't know. Harry wouldn't know. Not until it happened.

After everything in the house was quiet, Harry walked in the living room. The lights on the tree were still on. It was Christmas eve but the holiday lost all the thrill it used to have. Harry stood there for quite some time staring at the tree. Thinking about all his friends that were probably asleep right now. They all had families, but here they are. A makeshift family. Harry's makeshift family. They were all there for Harry. But Harry couldn't understand why.

He felt familiar arms wrap around his waist and pull him close. Harry's back was pressed against Sev's chest and it seemed perfect but Harry was still thinking.

"Merry Christmas." Severus whispered in his ear.

"Do you think we'll have a family?" Harry asked. "One day, do you think we'll have a baby? And a house?"

Severus turned Harry around and looked at Harry, trying to find the cause of the random question.

Severus took Harry's face in his hands. "Do you want that? Do you want to have a family with me?"

Harry nodded. And Severus leaned down to kiss him softly. "Then we'll have a family." Severus said against his lips, making Harry grin and wrap his arms around Severus. Harry kissed him again. And again. Until they were laughing about the thought of the little family they wanted.

*****Page Break*****

The next morning was filled with unwrapping presents and a big breakfast. They all laughed and joked. Even Luna joined in. Her laugh filling the house and bringing a smile to everyone's face.

As the afternoon came, they all sat around. Telling stories. Harry sat in Sev's lap to make room for Neville on the couch. Luna was laying on her back on the floor. Hermione was in a chair and Ron on the floor with his back against the chair.
"I still can't believe you guys fought a troll." Luna said, staring at the ceiling. She was a year younger. She wasn't there for the troll.

"They were always up to something." Severus chimed in, as he played with Harry's hair.

Ron laughed. "That's true. Every year we did something."

They sat there for hours. Talking, admitting, laughing. They only moved to go to Sev's house to visit Remus. There, they sat. Their day was lazy but well deserved.

When break ended, no one was ready to go back. They liked being away from all the stress school brought and Harry didn't want to leave Severus or Remus. Remus was up and moving and feeling a lot better which Harry was happy about.

Inevitably, the day came and they packed their bags and went back to Hogwarts.

After being back for a month, Harry was going insane. There was no defence teacher so no one was learning how to defend themselves. Dumbledore told them they were working on finding a teacher but their wasn't anyone willing to take the job. With the threat of a war looming over their heads, Harry was thinking about starting the DA up again. He wasn't the only one who wanted it to start again. Hermione suggested it and Neville did too, but Harry didn't. He wasn't sure why, he just put it off.

When march finally rolled around, Harry was tired of sending letters to Severus. He wanted to see him. He wanted Severus to come back and teach Defense and be close enough to kiss. But none of this was possible. Everything seemed so distant and wrong.

By April, Harry was sitting in front of Dumbledore demanding a change. "We need a teacher and we need one now." Harry was desperate. They needed to know how to defend themselves.

"I agree." Dumbledore nodded. "Ms. Tonks has agreed to accept my invitation to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. She'll be starting soon."

And she did. She was there two days later.

Having Tonks for a teacher was different. The classes were fun but they learned quite a bit.

May came around and all the snow was gone and it was finally warm outside. Remus stopped replying to Harry's letters and Severus was avoiding Harry's question. Harry tried not to be worried about it.

"You should write him." Harry suggested to Hermione while they studied. Well, Hermione and Harry were studying. Ron was trying to copy Hermione's notes.
"If he won't answer you, he's definitely not going to answer me." Hermione stated. Harry wanted Hermione to write Remus. Maybe he was just ignoring Harry.
"I'll give it week. If he hasn't answered me by then, I'm leaving." Harry decided.

Three days later, Harry finally got a letter.

Harry,
They're going to attack. I'll be there. -Remus
