*Liam's POV*
I had just followed Michael back into the club when my eyes landed on a pretty brunette sitting at the bar, and quickly recognized her as the girl i had accidentally ran into just a few minutes earlier. Her friend smiled widely and pointed behind me excitedly, most likely realizing who Mike was.
The brunette seemed uninterested, while her friend smiled all the wider. I decided to have a little fun with the situation, considering Michael was single. I turned to face him, my back now to the two girls.
"Hey Mikey!" I shouted to be heard above the ear-pounding music.
"Yeah?" He asked. I nodded my head in the girls' direction.
"See that blonde girl with the short black dress and red purse?" He searched over my shoulder, smiling slightly when he found her.
"Yeah I see her, what about her?"
"She fancies you!" I smiled. Michael looked at the floor and probably blushed, I couldn't quite tell because the club was so dark.
"Whatever man."
"No I'm serious! Go over there to the bar and get two drinks! I'll send her over!" I promised him. He smiled and headed to an empty spot at the bar while I headed in the direction of the two girls.
I was almost within talking distance when I saw the brunette push the blonde away. The blonde just laughed and then headed towards Michael.
She reached him and she was surprised when he gave her a drink and asked her to sit down with him. You could say I am the best mate ever, because the two hit it off almost instantly.
I looked over at the brunette whom was now siting alone and decided to join her.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked her. She didn't even bother to look up from her drink.
"Sure, go ahead. It's not my bar."
"Thanks." I got the bartender's attention and sat down next to her, she still hasn't looked at me. "I'll have whatever she's having, and put her's on my tab." I said. She turned in her seat as if to say something but stopped when her eyes met mine.
They caught me off guard. They were the deepest, darkest brown you'd ever seen. They were incredible, maybe even more fascinating than Danielle's, I was too shocked to think about that though.
The brunette pointed at me, shocked.
"You... You're..."
"Liam." I found my voice, and then have her a small smile. She smiled shyly in return.
"This is insane.." She whispered, but I still heard her. "You uhh, you're my favorite." She said. "Of One Direction I mean!" She laughed. "I'm, I'm going to stop talking now. " she blushed and look at her drink, running her pointer finger along the rim of the cup.
I just chuckled and took a sip from my own drink.
"Why are you at this small dinky club of all places?" She suddenly asked. I turned towards her a little.
"I'm here with a friend."
"Oh right! Michael Clifford?"
"The one and only."
"I'm glad his hair is blonde again, I missed it." I laughed at that.
"Umm, yeah. Me too?"
"OH MY GOSH HE KISSED DANI'S HAND!" She freaked. I turned to look Michael who, in fact, kissed the blonde's knuckles. Clifford you dog!
I chuckled.
"So so your friend's name is Danielle?" I said, and instantly saddened. The brunette must've noticed because she put her hand on my arm in a comforting gesture.
"Hey, Liam. Are you okay?"
"Danielle and I... MY Danielle and I.. We uhh..."

I huffed, frustrated that fresh tears found their way to my eyes. "She dumped me." I finished bitterly.
"Oh Li.. I'm so sorry!" The girl said. She wrapped me in a hug as I cried into her shoulder, in the middle of a freaking crowed club. Great job Liam. But I didn't really care at the moment.

After a few minutes of her holding me and telling me everything happens for a reason and if we're meant to be together she will come back, I pull out of the hug and hold the girl's hands in mine tightly.
"What's your name?"
"Stormy, but everyone calls me Storm." The name brought a smile to my lips.
"Storm... I like it." I smiled at her.
"Thanks, Liam." She paused. "So, random question.." She faded. I encouraged her to continue.
"Yeah?"
"So are we like friends now or-"
"LIAM!" We both whip our heads I the direction of the outburst. Michael and Dani were walking over to us hand in hand. I smiled to myself. Nice work Payne! Mental fist bump!
Michael hugged me tightly and introduced Dani to me, then I introduced him to Storm. All of us smiling from ear to ear the whole time.
"So Liam!" Michael started.
"So Michael!" I said, mocking him. He just laughed at me and put his arm around Dani.
"I- uh, WE have some good news!" He said. Storm looked at Dani expectantly.
"Well?" She asked impatiently.
"I asked Dani out on a date and she said yes." Michael beamed. I smiled and gave him a high five while Dani and Storm held hands and squealed.
"That's amazing!" Storm said excitedly.
"Yeah, congrats man! Maybe she'll teach you how to clean up after yourself!" I winked at him and ducked when he went to hit me playfully.

The rest of that night was a wonderful distraction. Michael, Dani, Storm, and I danced and laughed all night then ended up all staying in Michael's hotel room.
I laid on the extra king sized bed with Storm asleep on my chest. Nothing happened, although I noticed that a part of me wanted it to.
She was amazing; an incredible friend, a beautiful girl, super smart, extremely funny. If I wasn't so heart broken over Danielle, I probably WOULD'VE asked her out.
But truth is I'm scared, no, TERRIFIED that I'll get heartbroken again. I can't go through this again. I'm not over Danielle yet, but I can't make Storm a rebound.
I just can't do that to her, she's too special to me now. Maybe, just maybe... If we stay best friends I'll get over Danielle easier.
Maybe, if I gave it time, I could learn to love again.
