Learn To Love Again (Liam Payne)

Chapter 16:

*Dani's POV*

"What's wrong Kiddo?" I asked Liam once we had stepped into the hallway.

*FLASHBACK*

After Michael and I ran into a very upset Chloe, I had stopped to talk to her while Michael went to see Liam and Stormy.

"Chloe, what's wrong?" I asked her. I wiped away some tears and sadly smiled at me.

"Liam and I... We broke up." She said. My eyes widened. What? Liam acted like he genuinely liked this girl, what on earth had gotten into him.

"What? Why'd he break up with you?" I asked her. Chloe quickly shook her head at me.

"Actually I broke up with him." Ahhh, there it is.

"Why?" I asked again.

"Because I'm not Stormy." She whispered. I blinked a few times before responding again.

"So what? Chloe, Liam really likes you! He even bought you this beautiful necklace for--"

"I know about the necklace." Chloe interrupted. "And I also know that Stormy helped him pick it out."

I shrugged.

"So?" Chloe sighed.

"So, he talks in his sleep."

"What does that have to--"

"He loves her, more than he will ever love me! I'm just a temporary replacement until she realizes that! Chloe shouted, drawing some unwanted attention. She lowered her voice before speaking again.

"It was a couple weeks ago. We were watching tv and he fell asleep. He started talking in his sleep, and naturally I thought it was funny so I listened. .He said, 'I love you' which obviously caught my attention. I told him 'I love you too LiLi,' and then he responded with 'It's always been you...'"

"Again, not seeing what this has to do with anything..." Chloe wiped fresh tears off of her face and sighed, frustrated.

"He said, 'It's always been you... STORM.'..."

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"It's Chloe, she umm..." He swallowed. "She broke up with me." He said as he sat down on the floor, his back against the wall. I sat down next to him.

"I heard..." I said. " I'm sorry Liam. Chloe was a sweet girl." Liam gave out a heartless chuckle.

"She was a lot more than just sweet." He looked down at his intertwined hands and had a very concentrated look on his face. I could tell he was trying to hold back his emotions.

"Liam..."

"Yeah?"

"You know you can cry in front of me, right?" Liam looked up to meet my eyes, tears just dying to spill over.

I have him a small smile, which caused him to finally break. The tears starts to pour down and he let out a small sigh.

"I'm so tired of crying." He said quietly. I ran a hand through his hair and then cupped his cheek.

"I know.." Liam leaned over and laid down to where his head was in my lap and his face away from my own.

"Dani?"

"Yeah Liam?"

"What should I do? Seriously. Whatever you think is best, I need to know it,now." Liam said. I stroked his hair absentmindedly and thought.

"I think... You should follow your heart."

Liam rolled over to look me in the eyes.

"That's really all you've got for me?" He asked with a small chuckle. On the bright side, it was a happy chuckle. I just shrugged.

"Lets try something. I'm going to give you a word, and you'll say the first name that comes to mind. Sound okay?"

"Might as well try it!"

"Alright then... How about, Best friend?"

Liam smiled widely.

"Michael."

"Fun?"

A slight frown.

"Chloe."

"Family?"

Another wide smile.

"My boys."

"Heartbreak?"

The smile faltered again.

"Danielle..."

Here goes nothing!

"Love?"

"Stormy." GOTCHA PAYNE!

Liam sat up so fast he nearly took off my nose. He looked at me with wide eyes and his mouth hung open slightly. I just smiled at him.

I'm amazing, I know. You're welcome.

"Stormy..." He whispered.

"Stormy." I said with a nod. His lips curbed up to match my wide smile.

"Stormy." He said, louder and more definite.

With that he sprung up and practically floated back into the hospital room. I followed hot on his heels, I wasn't going to miss a sit second if what was about to happen.

*Stormy's POV*

I watched as Liam basically skipped into the room, the biggest smile on his face.

Well, some one was in a better mood!

"Hey there Higgins!" Liam said once he reached my bedside. Her sat on my bed and held my hand in his. I have him a smile, and a confused look at the same time.

"Hey Li, everything okay?" I asked him. He smiled, looked back at Dani, then back to me.

"Every thing's.... Perfect." He said. Before I had a chance to ask anymore questions, he gently caressed my face, catching me off guard.

"Hey Storm, guess what." He whispered. I heard a door close, signaling that Michael and Dani had left the room. I gulped when I noticed how close Liam's face was getting to mine.

"What?" I asked quietly. Liam smiled and brushed some hair out of my face.

"It was always you."

And with that, his lips crashed into mine.

For real this time.
