Luke and Alaina's POV:
"What the hell were you thinking!"
Luke and Alaina's mother had just spent 20 minutes lecturing them.
"You had a great job there. This will make other places not want to hire you! Do you even realize how lucky you were to have that job handed to you right after you graduated? You would think that you of all people would appreciate that but no. You had to ruin your chance to be a scientist!"
She went on and on. Their mother was the kind of woman to exaggerate everything.
Alaina had had enough, "Mother just stop right now."
Her mother gasped,"how dare you speak to me like that! Go to your room."
"Mom I am not five. We are both adults, which means you no longer control everything we do. This was our decision."
She looked disgusted with them. "After all your father and I have done for you, you should treat me with some respect."
The twins glanced at each other. They knew this wouldn't end well. Their mother always had to get her way or no one was happy. This time they had to take a stand and not give in.
"Mother," Luke said speaking for the first time, "maybe its time we find somewhere else to call home." He glanced up from the floor to see how his mother would react.
Her face showed that she was furious but in her eyes there was a hint of sadness and regret. "If that is how you feel then leave. Remember this though, when you realize what a huge mistake you have made, don't come crying to me."
Before they could say anything she was opening the door. "I want you hone by tonight, before your father gets home from work." Their mother slammed the door with a bang that shook the whole room.
Alaina sighed, "I guess we better hurry then. I'll get the boxes from the attic, you drive the car up to the back door."
"Okay," Luke replied solemnly.
They gathered up everything they could fit in the car from both their rooms. There was an uncomfortable silence between them. They had no where they could go with such short notice.
"What if we just got a hotel room for tonight and tomorrow we could look for a cheap apartment?" Luke suggested.
They both like the idea so that is what they decided to do. They drove away from the home they grew up in and toward the unknown.
They shared a hotel room with two beds to save money and in the morning they would sit for hours on the internet, searching for an affordable place to live.

A/N
I know that the twins seem pretty close but that is just how they grew up. It was them against the world and they always stuck together, but they do fight like other siblings.
Just felt like clearing that up in case anyone wondered why they did everything together.
There is more of this chapter so keep reading.

Isaac's POV:
He had just stepped through the door of his aunt and uncle's house after walking home from school. His uncle was with his cousin, Jay, who was one year older than him. They sat on the couch watching some action film full of scenes with violence and gore.
He didn't really want to watch a movie with them so he continued on to the kitchen. His aunt was cooking some weird new food for supper. He never enjoyed any of her new recipes since they were always things that didn't belong together.
It smelled awful so he tried to sneak past her to his room, in case she made him taste it.
"Isaaaac!" she said in a singing voice, "come try my new recipeeeee!"Damn her incredible sense of hearing.
"Maybe later," he lied, "I have some homework to catch up on. It might take me all night. I might not even have time for dinner."
Issac then ran up the stairs without giving his aunt time to process what he had said. He stepped into his room and flicked on the light. He dropped his school bag on his bed which sat in the corner of his room. It landed on his blankets, which sat messily upon the bed. He then sat ungracefully beside it.
It was just another day for him. Another day where he stayed in his room and avoided his aunt, uncle and Jay as often as he could.
Jay wasn't that bad. He just thought he was bigger and better compared to Isaac's skinny body. Jay was at least 6 feet tall with huge muscles. He was not the brightest guy though. Isaac had a theory that his muscles drained all his brain cells. It had, so far, proven to be true. Jay was also into gory video games and action packed movies. He used to be quite the athlete in highschool as well. He and Issac just didn't agree on anything. They were total opposites.
His uncle was also not someone Isaac could get along with. He was incredibly overweight and his hair was already gray. His head was started to go bald and his mustache just kept growing. He was also into those action movies but he preffered to watch various spaorts and yell at the players like they could hear him.He drank beer all day and never got off his lazy ass unless he wanted food. Even then he would just make Issac's aunt get it for him.
Isaac's aunt was not as bad as the others. She felt bad for Isaac and always made sure he had enough to eat.She was a short woman with a skinny frame. She always kept her hair short because she liked to cook and she didn't like to wear hairnets. She said they were, "unflattering." She was kind at heart, even if her food tasted like she was trying to poison you.
Even though they were not Isaac's real parents, they were all he had. Sometimes they weren't even that bad. His uncle always worried him though. Isaac was certain that his uncle hated him.
He had to just continue on and not worry though. It was what he had to do, to make it through each day.
