Cassandra's POV:

She opened her eyes. She had fallen asleep on the couch in her hotel room last night. It couldn't really be considered night though because it had been after 6 o'clock. She looked over to the bed that sat in the center of the room. Isaac was sprawled out like a starfish.

Last night Isaac had showed up at her hotel room right after she had sent him the text. They had talked for an hour after Isaac finished thanking her for driving all the way to the city, just because he needed her. Isaac had then fallen asleep on the bed, so she stole a blanket and climbed onto the couch. She knew that he was better now that she was there with him. She didn't question him about what happened last night and he didn't bring up the topic.

She knew she had to ask him what had caused it, but she wasn't sure he was quite ready for that conversation. She gave it some thought, and decided that she would distract him today. They would go and drive around the city doing all the things they used to do before she moved to the farm. Tonight she would confront him about what happened. It would be easier to talk to him when he is less closed off about his feelings. She had known him forever so she knew exactly how to get him to talk.

Isaac yawned and rolled over to his side. He must have been very close to the edge because he fell to the floor. He jumped up from the floor and looked around as if he had forgotten where he was. His eyes landed on her as he relaxed his limbs in relief. He must have rolled around a lot in his sleep because half his blonde hair was pointed straight to the ceiling and the other half was out to the side.

"Good morning sleepyhead," Cassandra whispered.

Isaac gave he a look that said he was still really tired and didn't want to be up yet. He then made his way to the bathroom and shut the door.

Cassandra sighed. Last night had been a little tense. She knew that it would take a lot to get him to open up to her. She just wanted to help her friend.

The last time he had had panic attack was the day he found out his parents died. His parents had been kidnapped by some bad people last year. They had been missing for two weeks before the cops found them. The people who kidnapped them had tortured them for information about something his father was working on. Isaac's father had worked for the government. They must have not told the kidnappers what they wanted to know, so they were killed.

When the police had told Isaac what had happened, he broke. He was a mess for the longest time. He had no siblings, so he was all alone. Cassandra was the one that helped him when he could no longer help himself. Luke and his twin sister had been there for him too. It had always been the four of them. They were a team. When Isaac had no family, they became his family.

Then halfway through the year, Luke and Alaina graduated school and got jobs at a science lab. They barely ever had time to spend with Cassandra and Isaac anymore. Then a few months ago Cassandra moved away from the city, leaving Isaac completely alone.

She had not wanted to leave him, but her parents insisted. It hurt them both to be apart from each other. She had a feeling that Isaac's panic attack could be related to how isolated he is. He doesn't like to talk to people he doesn't know, so it was always hard for him to make new friends. Cassandra was only his friend because she was very persistent with getting him to talk to her. Then she had convinced him to talk to Luke as well.

She missed the good ol' days when they were all together, the days when they never had to worry. There was no going back though. They were all stuck in a time where things were different. Things were unfair. The world was out to make them hurt.

Cassandra's thoughts were interupted when Isaac walked out of the bathroom. He had fixed his hair, sort of. He had no clothes to change into so he wore the same clothes as last night.
