Luke's POV:
There was a figure in the distance. It face was a rotted out mess. It's left cheek was so rotted out that you could see it's tongue, which was a big blob of flesh that looked well chewed. The gray figure stumbled toward him and Luke could now see his face more clearly. It was his old boss from the lab. It came closer and closer until he could smell its breath. They came face to face and-
Cold. Thats all Luke felt as he flew out his bed and onto the floor. He opened his eyes and shivered.
"Why am I wet?" he questioned his sister who now stood over him.
"Get up," she replied, "It's already noon. I grabbed you lunch, so get up and get dressed. We have things to do and no time to waste."
"Uuuuuuuugh. Whyyyyyyy sooooo earlyyyyyy."
Alaina stomped off without another word. He sighed and went to change his cold, soaked clothes.

"Okay, so far I have found three appartments I want to check out. I'm leaning towards the one on third street." Alaina said as she drove their car down 123rd street. "Luke are you even listening to me?!"
"Yeah, I was just thinking. Maybe we should go and talk to mom first."
Alaina gave him a look that clearly stated she was against the idea.
"Pleaaaasseee. I don't like how we ended things. I don't want her to think we are never speaking to her again. Even though you might not want to, I would like to at least make her think that we aren't mad at her."
"Fine," Alaina sighed, "but I'm not apologizing. Also you have to pretend that we are completely happy and already have a new appartment."
Luke agreed. It was probably the only way he would ever get his sister in the same room as their mom. He was actually surprised she didn't demand more.
Twenty minutes later they pulled int their parents drive way. Alaina made no move to get out of the car.
"Alaina don't be stubborn. I'll do all the talking but at least come inside."
She hesitated but agreed with Luke's request.
They walked up to the front door and wrung the door bell.
Ring
No answer. They hit the bell again.
Ring
Luke had begun to worry. Their parents cars were both parked out front, so they were definitely home. He reached forward and twisted the knob to find it unlocked.
They both poked their heads inside to look.
"Mom!" Luke yelled, "Are you here? It's me, Luke."
It was silent for a moment. Then there was the sound of a chair scraping across the upstairs floor. It was dark downstairs but there was a light coming from upstairs where they assumed the noise came from.
They glanced at each other questioningly. This whole situation screamed that something wasn't right. Their mother would have heard the doorbell. If she didn't she would have answered Luke when he called out for her.
Luke knew there was only one way to find out. He stepped into the unlit living room and Alaina followed, shutting the door behind her. The twins began climbed the staircase with Luke in the lead.
The upstairs hallway had no lights on either. The light was coming from their father's office door. Luke grabbed the door knob and opened it. The door hinges squeaked as the door swung open.
Luke would never forget what he saw before him.
Their mother layed across the desk with bright red blood pouring from her neck, which seemed to be missing a head. He soon spotted her head on the wood floor by the door, almost unrecognizable because of the injuries.
His father was thrown against the wall. He could tell by where the big splatter of blood and gore started, that someone must have thrown him with a lot of force.
Alaina cried out in shock and grabbed Luke's arm. She was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane.
"W- We need to call the p-police," she stuttered.
Luke still hadn't moved from his fixed position in the doorway. The air was ripped from his lungs when a hunched figure emurged from behind the curtains.
The figure resembled a man. It's skin looked like something was trying to rip it off. It's eyes were bloodshot and the hair, which was half gone, was sticking up in every possible different way.
His face. It was familiar. The man from his dream was real and it stood right in front of him. His old boss had somehow become the discusting being that stood before them. It was not possible. Unless... Luke brushed away the thought. But wait maybe it was possible.
Luke had been successful in creating the formula his boss desired. He had kept it in a locked safe, in the tunnels that had been abandoned under the lab. He had hidden it soon after he tested it on a dead rat. The formula worked, but with the most costly of side effects. The undead rat had gone crazy. It had eaten half of the other rats in the cage. The ones that got away with just a scratch or bite, had become undead as well. It had spread like a disease. If his boss had gotten a hold of it...
His consciousness flew back to the present. Alaina was screaming and trying to pull Luke out the door. He turned and grabbed his sister's arm, pulling her out of the house with him.
The monster followed behind them. Quite quick for a slowly composing corpse. They tried to get in the car but Luke realized he had left the keys in his jacket, which he had abandoned in the house.
He quickly had an idea. He ran next door to his neighbor's house, where his good buddy michael lived by himself. He banged on his door. The door was opened abruptly by a sleepy looking Michael.
Luke didn't give him a chance to speak before he said, "I need a ride ASAP!"
It must have been the scared look in Luke's eyes that made Michael agree. They all hopped in Michael's truck and sped down the street. Michael pulled into a McDonalds parking lot and stopped the car.
Michael looked at the petrified twins in the backseat. "I hope there is a good explaination for why my beauty sleep was interrupted."
Luke looked at his sister, who was till crying and shaking and sighed. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Try me."
