Your stomach felt like it was tangled in one ginormous knot. You paced back and forth as you desperately tried to collect your thoughts, but your mind was all over the place. You tried to focus your eyes on the walls, but they kept dancing back and forth as white noise filled your ears. You knew that sooner or later you would have to address the situation at hand, but instead you decided to put it off by biting your nails and tugging at your hair anxiously. You had found out a few days ago that you had been expecting, but now the initial joy fell away to undeniable shock and terror. You had been with Luke for almost a year and you loved him beyond description; he was quite possibly one of the biggest sweethearts you had ever had the chance to know. However, Luke had been away with a branch of the Resistance for a little over a month while you remained copilot of the Falcon with Han Solo. In that short time you and Han had become rather close knit...and very intimate friends. And so, like so many women before you, you had fallen victim to the charismatic charm that he wore extremely well. All it took was one night; one night was all it took to do you in for good. You knew at once it wasn't Luke's, as he had been gone...How you were going to explain the circumstances to the both of them was beyond you. You gave yourself a small 'pep-talk' before going off to find Han, who had been working to fix the engine of the Falcon. You soon found him digging through wires and fumbling around with his small supply of tools, grumbling and swearing to himself as he attempted to locate the problem. "Hey there." You said softly, mentally swearing when you heard your voice shake. Han grunted in greeting, not tearing his eyes way from the tangled mess of red and blue wires. You could feel the anticipation boiling up inside of you, resisting the urge to run off and hide. "Han, I really need to talk to you-" "-And I really need to fix this ship, (Y/N)." "This is really important!" You insisted. He finally turned to you, looking slightly annoyed and a bit frazzled. "What? What is so important that cannot wait?" You were biting the inside of your cheek so hard that you could taste blood, and you decided that it would be best to just let it out before you tore through your skin like paper. Taking a deep breath, you desperately tried to keep your voice from shaking. "-Han, I'm pregnant." His reaction was one that you never could have expected. He simply scoffed, still fumbling with the wires as if he didn't hear you. You stared in disbelief; didn't he understand how much of an impact this would have on the both of you? "Han." "Look, (Y/N), I'm happy for you and Skywalker. You'll be great parents, but I really need to fix this hunk of junk so we can get to Tatooine." You stumbled back, heart sinking. He didn't understand what you were trying to say...."It...It's not Luke's baby." Han froze, dropping his wrench from the sudden news. It fell directly on his foot and he let out a loud cry, swearing at the top of his lungs. You raced forward to help him up, when he seized your wrist in an iron grip. "What do you mean it's not Luke's?" Han questioned slowly, furrowing his eyebrows. "The kid has to he his-" "-Han," you began quietly, heart in your throat, "It's yours." He paled, running his hands through his hair while looking as if his brain short-circuited and needed to be rebooted. His eyes were wide as they fell to your stomach. "Y-You mean to tell me...that there's a little kid growing inside of you," He said breathlessly, locking eyes with you, "And I'm the father?" You nodded solemnly, feeling as if you were a judge decreeing a punishment on a prisoner. Han stepped forward, gently placing his hands on your sides as he stared at your stomache. You couldn't read his expression, as it changed too rapidly to keep up with; It was amazing how someone could express such terror, excitement, worry, and confusion all at once. Han broke out of his trance, giving you a very serious look. "Have you told Luke yet?" Guilt and anxiety flooded your senses as you realized you would have to tell Luke about what had happened, but you didn't know if you were strong enough to confess everything. "(Y/N)," Han repeated lowly, "Does Luke know?" You squeezed your eyes tightly, shaking your head. Han's jaw fell slack with disbelief, slamming his palm to his forehead. "You haven't TOLD him?!" You winced at the outrage in his voice, squeaking out a 'no'. "We have to tell him!" "I know, I know....I just don't know how to!" He grimaced, scoffing. "(Y/N), Luke has a right to know that you're carrying a mini me everywhere!" "Han, no one can ever know-" "-I'm the father, shouldn't I have a say in this?" You scoffed, scowling at him; How dare he believe that he has a right to tell you what to do after what he had done to you? "You've done enough Solo!" Han scoffed, rolling his eyes. "I'm trying to help you out of this mess!" "What do you want me to do, then?" I demanded, jamming a finger into his chest. "How am I going to explain this to Luke? Do you expect me to lie to him? Or do you think I should just run away from my problems like you?" Han sneered, pushing past you. "I never run away-!""-That's what you're doing right now! You're not taking ownership of what you've done-!" "-It was a mistake, (Y/N)!" He roared, hands tugging at his hair. You were taken back by his sudden outburst, feeling your heart slowly sink to your stomach. "Mistake?" You repeated softly, "Was this pregnancy a mistake? Or are you saying that I'm the mistake?" "I'm saying YOU'RE the mistake! I should have never been with you in the first place! Let's just drop the little sucker off somewhere and our problem's solved! How about Jakku-" "-I am not giving up our child, Han!" "Look at you! You're still a kid! Do you really think you can handle a commitment like this?" "At least I can actually commit to something!" "You're barely an adult, (Y/N), and Skywalker will drop your ass the minute he finds out that kid isn't his!" The words struck a nerve in you as your face grew bright red, anger boiling up inside of you. "Luke isn't like that!" "You don't know that, (Y/N)!" Han spat, slamming his fist against the control panel. "You think he's so righteous? That he'll welcome your bastard child with open arms and a loving embrace? Knock that fairy tale delusion from your head, (Y/N), this is the real world!" You felt your heart sink to the pit of your stomach as you thought about what he had just said, realizing that you had no idea how Luke would react to the situation at hand. Finding out you were expecting was bad enough, but to learn that the child isn't his....it would be downright horrible. You brought your hands to your stomach as a few tears rolled down your cheeks, racking your brain for some sort of solution to the current predicament. The more you searched for a way out, the harder the decision became. You couldn't rely on Han or Luke...the two people you trusted the most were no longer there for you. You slowly sank into the command chair, wrapping your arms around yourself for some sort of security, feeling as if you were being swallowed whole by thoughts of the future. You couldn't just abandon your kid, could you? Your quiet contemplation caused your soft tears to turn into a hiccuping sob as his harsh and hateful words raced through your head. "I don't need you getting all mushy, princess. Take care, kiddo, and be careful." As he began to walk out of the door you felt your world shatter beneath your feet. A newfound wave of fear and loneliness gnawed at your insides as you realized that he was abandoning you. He was a coward; He was a heartbreaker, a womanizer, he was a scoundrel....and he was someone you had loved deeply. You wanted to scream out but you couldn't make a sound. You simply watched him walk away as your heart felt lodged in your throat, not knowing what to do or where to turn. "Rey!" You choked out, and suddenly he stopped dead in his tracks. You had caught his attention, and you sure as hell weren't about to let it go. He slowly turned to face you, brows knit in confusion while looking weary and almost ill. "W-What?" "She is your daughter...and her name is Rey."
