PART 2
♦ 0956 ♦Percy stood in the office by the door watching the two glare at each other as they had been doing for the last five minutes. It was only after the initial shock of meeting each other again had passed, was when they decided to talk.
"I helped you and you ran off!"
"I didn't need your help, you arrogant man, trying to help every woman in sight when sometimes they have things under control!"
Tory didn't want her to notice this but he was hurt by her words. Only Percy could see that it had hit him, but he still continued anyway. "What part of me helping was bad. When you had a panic attack? Or when you began shaking so much that you couldn't even hold yourself up?"
Percy stood straighter. When Ms. Colliens arrived, she was a bundle of nerves but underneath, it was confidence throughout. Come to think of it, she was arriving around the same time as him! That's why she was apologizing so much! In a way, she had changed from when he last saw her. She seemed stronger, seemed to carry herself better.
"You don't get to put the blame on me! I was fine at least, its your problem that you left the elevator and-"
"Lift!"
"What?" Xalia stopped confused.
"It's called a lift, not 'elevator'!"
"It's elevator, not lift, and don't interrupt me next time! All you could have done is direct me to my office or where I actually wanted to go which was here," on the word 'here', Xalia pointed to the space around her and continued, "then call from a phone, I'm sure you don't have an office here but you can probably charm the women that decide to open their legs the second you look their way. Instead, you took me to the ground floor which made me late!"
Tory looked stumped but when she mentioned that he had made her late, he was more than annoyed. Wasn't he the one that was late because of her?
"You made me late! I had a meeting with a woman up here in my office, where you are right now and I don't think you're meant to be here! You better get out before I call security on you!"
"Me?! You have some nerve, telling me that I made you late. No, I've got a meeting here which, by the way, is a fail because the boss is incompetent and-"
Tory had had enough of this psycho woman. Can't he just meet a normal girl at least once in his life? But nooo, he had to meet the crazy ones. Pulling out his gun, he leveled it at her head. The mere presence of the gun made her stop talking but after a few seconds, it didn't look like it deterred her as she stepped forward so her forehead was pressed hard against the nozzle of the gun.
Tory was a bit shocked but he didn't show it, after all, Percy was not only brains but he was bodyguard. It was the only reason why he had allowed him to have so many tattoos everywhere. He wouldn't let him get into harm unawares.
"Get out."
Xalia looked at the gun. Then looked at the guy. Then looked at his baggage claim. Then to his eyes. She moved her head a fraction up and down. He must have a small one to be bringing out a gun like that. Especially on women, her inner voice Sasparilla said. Yes, she named her inner voice, and what? It liked to talk anyway so why not give it a name?
"If you think you can put a gun to my head because you feel intimidated by me, you're sorely mistaken," with this, she pushed the gun to the site and Tory's hand fell sharply," Now, go get me the CEO so we can hold this delayed meeting and you can get out of the office right now."
The woman pointed behind her as if to say, there's the door. By now, Percy could see that Tory was infuriated and had lost his patience. He could see in his eyes that he didn't care who she was, that if he had to kick her out of his office, he would. And to be totally honest, Percy would be most happy to help do that with him. He had wasted enough time as it is and they hadn't even started the meeting. I don't even think they know each other still, even though they've introduced themselves like a million times subtly, he thought.
They're both going to a meeting on the penthouse floor. In the same office but they keep shouting at each other to get out because they're waiting for someone to come. Why, oh why, can't they connect the dots?
Tory walked over the side of the office, right behind his desk and sat down, but now before spinning the chair around to face the woman. How dare she?
"You're waiting for the CEO? Think before you start talking to anybody."
Xalia looked confused for the thirtieth time today so Tory continued on.
"Tory Marcovelli Giovanni, f***ing CEO of Giovanni. Fashion. Nice to f***ing meet you. Now go to Starbucks and get me a tall caramel frappucino with extra extra extra caramel."
Xalia couldn't believe it. She was arguing with her CEO. What in the world possessed her to speak like that? She was going to apologize when she heard him order her.
"On God's green earth, there's no way."
**
This promptly lead them to glare at each other with a heated fervor that wasn't there before. Tory was cracking under the woman's gaze, so he turned a bit to his right so he can get his laptop out of his drawer. Watching it power up was better than looking at this crazy woman, he deduced. Why wasn't she budging? Go get me my sweet coffee woman!
"Percy."
Percy's head turned towards Tory, waiting for his instruction. His head tilted slightly towards the woman and Percy got it straight away. Get this woman out of my office and get my coffee as well. Percy didn't even complain. He liked his job, Tory was a long time friend and in his opinion, he got paid a lot just to be an onlooker. Tory didn't need a P.A., he must wanted someone to call when he was stuck with something. And he was perfectly fine with that.
"Ms. Colliens, I presume? Please follow me."
Tory wasn't really paying attention as his laptop had switched on and the account login was showing on the screen, but when he heard the name 'Ms. Colliens', he looked up straight away. That was her?! He thought as he watched her walk away with Percy, Percy's hand resting low down on her back. Tory squinted his eyes at that. He needed a word with Percy when he got back.
He was going to look away from them as soon as they got into the lift but as they got on, when he was about to look away, he saw Percy reach forward and pull her into his arms. He looked at her lovingly but not before he began kissing her. Tory couldn't see anymore as the lift doors closed.
If he had coffee right there and then, he would have definitely splurted it out by now, he thought. That was definitely a "what-the-f.." moment.
