PART 3
♦ FLASHBACK 2.5 ♦

Percy

I was still standing by the barrier and about to turn away when I saw her. Dressed in black but a classy way about it. Something about her fascinated me just from looking. I went back to rest my hands against the banister and take a good look at her.

Her dress complimented her dark skin in the club lights. She walked and people made way for her without her even making eye contact. And she seemed to be lost or confused. Her facial expression was screwed, almost disappointed somehow. The way her head moved around the club, maybe she was looking for someone. Someone specific or someone to dance with? I was going to find out.

All of a sudden, I couldn't see the stairs that led downwards to the floor. It seemed to disappear so I had to walk past my table with Tory and his friends. Bummer. The only one who I remembered was called Caleb. Had his own company I heard. I snapped out of it. Do you want to know this girl or not? Then hurry up!

I practically ran past the table but I wasn't fast enough as Caleb saw me, of all people sitting there.

"Hey Percy!" His exclamation nearly made the whole club turn near me. He was known for being boisterous but it was a good thing I didn't know him well so I don't listen to rumors until I, myself, can guarantee that it's true. "Where you headed to?"

Without turning, I could feel Tory's glare at the back of my head. What did I do now? Okay, turn around but slooooowly.

Following the voice in my head, I did as it asked. Everyone on the table was staring at me. It was so awkward because nobody said anything. Why did you call me if you weren't gonna say anything? Like, damn!

"Percy, you can't just run off when you want to! Anyways, Pr-"

GO LOOK FOR THE GIRL. TORY'S NOT GONNA DISAPPEAR BUT SHE WILL. GO.

"Sorry, gotta run quick. Be back in a second."

I had already turned to run down the back stairs when I heard Tory call after me. "Percy! I'm talking to you! Don't run off when I'm speaking. Percy!"

When he shouts my name, I know he's drunk and will probably chase after me but I at least needed to know her name. It was one of those girls that once they are in your mind, nobody else mattered. Even the girls around her didn't look as good. As I double stepped the stairs down [ a/n : DO NOT TRY THIS . IT HURTS LIKE A B . IT DOES. ONLY PEOPLE WITH LONG LEGS CAN DO IT ] and turned around the corner, I passed the invisible stairs that I didn't find before.

Wow, I thought. It was in an obvious place but in the heat of trying to find the name of the girl, I must have not been looking hard enough.

Once I reached the corner of the dance floor, I pushed through the people standing on the edge and saw her dancing in the middle. Nobody had accompanied her yet so I guess she was waiting for somebody. Me probably, the voice inside of me said. But before I could introduce me, Tory had ran after me, not that drunk after all, and was tugging on my arm to follow him. I was about to follow suit when I decided to look at my mysterious allusion once again. A thought ran through my head.

Scientific research shows that if you stare at someone long enough, their  "sixth sense" kicks in and they follow the direction where the person is looking at them. I was proven right when she seemed to turn around to make direct eye contact with me, staring at me long enough for her to get the message.

I wanted to know her better. Was that not obvious?

I couldn't do much for Tory pulling me but before loosing sight of her, I gave her a small head nod, signalling that I would be back and that she shouldn't leave until I see her.

Hopefully, she got the message.
