PART 1

**the gif has nothing to do with this chapter but it kinda shows how she felt in the next chapters**"Ms Colliens?"
That was the beginning of her nightmare. If only she listened to the voice inside of her telling her that something was wrong with the conversation starter entirely. If only she didn't turn around, she thought miserably. But there was nothing she could do about it. The world is full of woulda, coulda, shoulda's. No point in adding "if only".
"Yes?"
She turned around to see her boss, Mr Hante, standing there holding a stack of papers out in his hands. Thinking that it's for her project, she stepped out towards him and reached out to grab it but he quickly took a step back, with a hand stretched out. She was confused and her head even tilted a bit as per the situation so he decided to put her out of her misery.
"These papers aren't for you. Even though they are yours," He saw her confused face and strived on, "I'm passing your project onto Mr Sanders."
He had to stop at her incredulity, her outburst shocking every one in the office in the surrounding areas.
"But I worked hard for that! I persevered to get on the project and his you're just giving it away to some random person -"
"Ms Colliens."
" - and I don't think this is fair! You think that all my hard work is going to be in vain just because -"
"Ms Colliens."
" - if I find out that he pulled some strings just to get my position, I will sue -"
"Xalia!"
She abruptly stopped ranting at the mention of her name. Exasperated, Mr Hante stood there, trying to interrupt in her speech and now that she had stopped, he was able to continue in what he was saying before.
"You have been noticed by the Boss. You have to go to his penthouse office but he will most probably be in the loft. Although, go to the penthouse to check first. Now," he pulled out a piece of paper from the front jacket pocket and unfolded it in front of her
" This is the code to the penthouse office. When you get to the floor, it locks the elevator and asks you to put in the code using the floor numbers. If you forget or simply can't remember one of the numbers, press "p" again so that the elevator will unlock and you will be given the choice to pick another floor. Understand?"
She looked down at the piece of paper he was showing her.
2 5 8 9 3 6 1 9 4 3 2 0
Seriously? She thought. Why 12 numbers? Are they even significant at all? But he really underestimated her if she thought this wasn't meant to be fun for her. She wasn't scared of anything. Her dad made sure of that.
Gently, she picked the piece of paper from his hand and, whilst looking at him, ripped it up into tiny little pieces and let it fall to the floor, him watching it drop to the ground with an aghast expression.
"If this ploy with the dreaded and so called 'Boss' was meant to make me go to him and get off the project I'd worked so hard for, fine! I'll go! But if it wasn't worth it, I will ruin this companies name, and you know I can do it!"
The whole office was silent as they listened to her. She took the silence as a note to leave and go visit this 'Boss' that had everybody quaking in fear. As she turned around, Mr Hante managed to find good choice and send out a measly sentence.
"But you don't have the code! You don't remember it if you don't have a remainder!"
She could just feel herself rolling her eyes at him, so she did. Without turning around or from walking, she just raised her hand and flicked it back at him.
"You underestimate me. And that will be your mistake."
