Dan had ordered himself a Pepsi and sat at the bar. He couldn't keep his eyes off this boy. Dan wanted to know who he was. They made eye contact at that moment, and the boy stopped dancing and began to walk towards Dan. Shit, he thought.
"Hey," The boy said. "You know, instead of staring you could have said hi. I don't bite. I'm Phil, by the way, I've never seen your face before. You must be new."
His voice was deep, but sweet, and really hot. Dan felt himself go red.
"Uh– yeah– I'm new here. I'm– I'm Dan."
Dan, you're a fucking mess, Dan thought.
"You don't have to be shy, Dan," Phil smiled. "Come on, let's dance."
Phil pulled Dan onto the dance floor, where slightly fast music was playing. Phil smiled, giving Dan butterflies. They began to dance in harmony. Phil spun Dan and Dan began to laugh a little.
"You don't seem like the dancing type, but you dance pretty damn well, Dan." Phil said as he moved his hands to Dan's waist. "I want to know you, you're different."
Dan simply nodded, as he was speechless. Phil had an effect on Dan that he couldn't explain or understand.
The song ended and Phil took Dan by the hand back to the bar and they both sat down.
"Can I buy you a drink, Dan?" Phil had not let go of Dan's hand, and frankly, he was fine with that, and wondered why Phil said his name nearly every time he addressed him.
Dan shook his head. "You don't have to..."
"But I'm going to, so what do you want?" Phil smiled.
They had ordered their drinks– and a few more. Phil was slightly tipsy, but Dan was fine. They had talked and talked.
"So," Phil said, "Can I have your number?"
"Of course you can, Phil." Dan smiled. It had been a while since Dan felt happy like this. Phil handed his phone to Dan and Dan put his number in there.
Dan checked his own phone and realized it was 11:00 and his mum had called many times.
"Shit. I have to go. I should've left a while ago."
"Nooo Danny." Phil pouted, which Dan thought was really fucking cute. "Promise you'll call, Dan."
"I promise, Phil."
Phill hugged Dan and they said goodbyes, and Dan promised to call Phil when he got home a few more times, and Dan made his way back home, happier than he's been in a while.
