Dan had been friends with Phil for 3 months now, and Phil had told Dan everything, about Phil's drinking problem, and living on his own as he was in his first year of college. Dan constantly worried about Phil being by himself.

One particular night, around 4 A.M, Dan woke up to his phone ringing, and it was Phil. Worried, Dan answered.

"Phil?"

"Dan, Dan, I need you." Phil's words slurred badly and Dan became very nervous.

"Phil? What's going on, are you alright?" Dan had to take deep breaths to not freak himself out.

"Dan, I'm lonely. I drank too much."

Dan didn't reply.

"Dan, come over. I'm scared. I need you." Phil's words were barely comprehensible, but Dan could hear the anxiety in his slurred words.

"Okay Phil. I'm on my way. Please don't drink anything else."

"Okay." Phil said, and then the line went dead.

Dan quickly snuck out of the house, and took off at a run to get to Phil's flat. Soon, he got there, and went in without bothering to knock.

"Phil? Phil?" Dan then saw Phil laying on his sofa, his drunken blue eyes meeting Dan's.

"Dan. Dan, I'm sorry Dan. I'm sorry. I love you." Phil slurred.

"I know Phil. I love you too." They occaisionally  said they loved each other, but Dan knew Phil didn't mean it in that way.

"Lay with me. I need you Dan. I'm so alone." Phil reached for Dan's hand.

"You're not alone now, Phil, it's okay." Dan laid on the couch– which was quite roomy, surprisingly –and Phil quickly took Dan into his arms. Dan smelled the alcohol on Phil's breath, but it didn't bother him much because Phil's arms were so tightly and comfortably wrapped around him.

"Dan?"

"Yes, Phil?"

"I'm sorry."

"I know, Phil. It's okay. Try to get some sleep."

Dan felt Phil's arms tighten comfortably around him, and he noticed Phil had nestled his head on Dan's chest.

"Goodnight, Danny," Phil slurred. "I love you."
