Film Making Skills Needed

Kevin was right above me on the ladder. A fear ran through my vains every time he stepped down. "Hurry up" he complained losing his grip. "KEVIN" I screamed but it was too late. Kevin was heardling towards me. He collided into me within seconds of letting go of the ladder. Time speed up and we hit the ground with a THUD.

I coughed with Kevin's weight pinning me to the cool ground. "Get off" I managed to push out under the pressure. Kevin sat up (which hurt more) then rolled off me. I rolled onto my stomach and put my arms out to help me up. "Kevin you are okay!" a girl screamed. I had dirt in my eyes so I couldn't really see who said it.

"Why is she here?" I heard a boy say. "Is that Hanna" another person asked. "Guys calm down, she saved me and she wants to help" I heard Kevin say trying calming everyone. "Help? She is popular. She made fun of you. And you brought her here" a boy said. I stumbled up. I rubbed the dirt out of my eyes.

Once I could see again I noticed everyone's eyes on me. "I'm Hanna" I said putting my hand out. No one shook it. Kevin whispered something in a girls ear. She was actually quite pretty, not what I expected from a nerd. "I'm Jacquelyn" the girl rolled her eyes. Jacquelyn looked to her left, the boy. "I'm Calvin" he said grinning, hand out. I shook Calvin's hand, at lest he is nice. In the background I spotted another person. I started to walk towards her in the back corner when a hand grabbed me. "Where are you going" Jacquelyn sneered. "Who is she" I asked looking back at the girl in the chair. "That's Emma, my little sister, she has PTSD from opening the closet door after the first news report on meteor #45" Jacquelyn said looking off into the distance, remembering something. "What was in the closet" I asked hopping it wasn't too much. Jacquelyn took a breath. "She saw our parents hanging in the closet" she concluded. My eyes widened. I never saw my mom die but if I did I would just do well nothing and be in trauma. I turned back around to the entrance and went over to Calvin and Kevin. "So, what should I do" I said with a smile. Calvin gave Kevin a confused look. "Go to bed" Calvin said pointing to the sleeping bag. There where 4, so one for everyone but Emma.

I settled down into the sleeping bag and shut my eyes tight. Memory's of Oma, dad, mom and Jessica came flooding in.

"Hanna" Jessica giggled chasing me around the garden. "Can't catch me loser" I laughed. Mom and dad where on the deck in lawn chairs sun bathing. I hid around the corner be the water hose. I grabbed it and turned it on full blast. I ran around the corner and started to spray mom and dad, Jessica too. Mom screamed/laughed. Dad ran down the steeps and charged at me. I screamed dropping the hose and started running. I was too slow he picked me up by the knees and held me tight. The freed his one hand and grabbed the hose and put it my face.

"Dad" I cried sitting up. I looked around, just a memory. I tear rolled down my cheek. "Are you okay" Kevin asked. I spun around to see him sitting in his sleeping bag. I whipped the tear away. "Yep" I choked. "Don't think to much about it" he said sliding back down, deeper into his sleeping bag. I did the same taking in Kevin's words. He was right, I shouldn't think too much about my old life. I closed my eyes and curled up into a ball. I shortly drifted off to sleep.

The smell of bacon and eggs woke me. Also the fact that Jacquelyn and Calvin where fighting. I rubbed my eyes while getting up. "Hey" I inturupted the fight. Jacquelyn and Calvin paused and looked my way. "What's wrong" I asked noticing the worrying looks. But there eyes weren't on me, they where on something behind me. I whipped my head around to see Emma. Her mouth opening and closing. Nothing coming out. "Emma are you okay" Jacquelyn said rushing over to her sister. Emma didn't respond, she pointed at me. Fear flooded me. What did I do? Emma's finger slowly curled and pointed to her. Jacquelyn gave me an odd look when I didn't do anything. "She wants you to come to her you idiot" Jacquelyn flatly said. I got on my knees and crawled over. Emma leaned in and whispered. "You did the right thing" Emma sweet voice filled my ear. She was reading my mind. I moved my mouth over to her ear. "You are the brave one here" I whispered. Emma began to blush. A smile filled my face. I really didn't know how old she was but with everything happening and her seeing her parents dead she was the brave one.

Emma still sat in the corner after Jacquelyn feed her breakfast. Kevin still wasn't awake when the conversation began. "So what is this video about?" I asked shoving my last bit of bacon in my mouth. Calvin and Jacquelyn gave me another odd look. I shrugged putting my fork in my mouth. "It's about what everyone is doing in these last days, who has changed, who hasn't" Calvin spoke up eggs still in his mouth. "Yes we know it's lame but if you want to stay here you have to help" Jacquelyn said as though I angered her. "Ya I know and I want to help" I smiled. Jacquelyn rolled her eyes, black hair flipping around. I threaded my fingers through my hair catching knots. I didn't know what to do next. "So what are we filming today?" I asked. "You um need to watch us film first because you need experience" Calvin said nervously. "Okay cool" I shrugged getting up walking toward the ladder. I picked up a jacket. "Can I borrow this for film today?" I asked Jacquelyn thinking it was hers. She mumbled something, I don't want to know what. "You can go out with me later this morning" Kevin said yawning. Did he seriously just get up. Though he still looked really cute.

Later came and Kevin and I where getting ready to leave. "Bye" I heard Jacquelyn say to Kevin. I turned and saw them kissing, but Jacquelyn was sloppy, you could clearly see it. I rolled my eyes and pulled the jacket around me. I began to climb up the ladder leaving Kevin in the dust.

I got to the top and began to push on the grass door. It wouldn't budge. "You stuck?" Kevin said coming up behind me. "No" I sneered. I didn't want some guys help. Kevin squished himself beside me and unlocked a latch. Oh I didn't see that. I reached my hand out and clawed out of the hole.

Kevin and I walked around for poeple or charitys or anything. I noticed a few missing signs with my name plastered on it with a picture too.

A few minutes before we reached my old house we saw a Santa. "Pull out the camera" Kevin whispered to me. I did as he said and turned it on too. "Hello sir, what charity do you work for" Kevin smiled as I walked up behind him. "Go away children, I need this money" the obviously fake Santa said. "So you don't even work for a charity you are just stealing money" Kevin said narrowing his brow. "Yes now got away" fake Santa said like scrooge before the ghost. Kevin turned around to leave and I backed up getting the full view of Santa and Kevin. "Oh one last thing" Kevin said turning back to Fake Santa. Kevin threw a punch, he hit fake Santa in the nose. Blood started to fall and Kevin started to run past me. I joined in once I relized fake Santa was chasing us.
