chapter 9: Flying

Later that night Amanda, Lizzy and Adam all met at half-blood hill each with just a backpack. Each had 100$, 20 drachmas, clothes, nectar and ambrosia. Chiron looked at each of them and pulled them in a group hug. They all got into the car with a big man that had blue eyes all over his body and Amanda could have swore that one of them winked at her. To get to San Francisco they all agreed to take a plan although it took Adam very long to be on board with the idea. Since all of them had ADHD (in battle it helped you, Lizzy explained) Adams got worst when he was scared. And right now he was terrified. Not that the girls blamed him. He was a child of the sea going into the god of the skies area. That couldn't be fun. Amanda looked out the window throughout most of the ride, lost in thought thinking about the last few days and how her life has changing. But was it changing for the worst or for the better? When they got to the airport. They waved good bye and headed inside. And in 3 hours they were sited on a plane heading to Texas and then California. when the planed started to move Adam let out a little yelp. Amanda tried to tell him it was going to be alright but he just wouldn't listen.

"Adam, Zeus wouldn't do anything. Not only would he face your fathers wrath but Athena's as will for messing with the quest."

"You don't know what!" as Adam spoke his voice shook.

"try to sleep okay? I'll wake you in an hour." Amanda said in a soft voice.

"yeah okay good idea okay." When Adam closed his eyes he reached for Amanda's hand. Amanda looked at their hands, at Adam and back at their hands. Adam had already fallen asleep. Lizzy was reading a Greek mythology book... in Greek. Amanda felt happy all of a sudden. Did this mean that she had feeling for Adam? No way. It couldn't be. They were just friends. I'm probably just tried' she thought as closed her eyes. When she drifted to sleep had a dream.

She was running. She couldn't stop. 'We will get you Amanda, you cant hide from us we are inside of you!' Amanda kept running until she saw a cave. She ran in there thinking she was safe. But she far from it. When she entered the cave she saw another girl there she had an orange t shirt. It was so tattered that Amanda couldn't tell what it said but she had a pretty good idea: camp half-blood. It was the girl that was taken from the Athena cabin. Something caught her eye though. It was a shadow of a boy. She couldn't see his face. When she tried to move from behind the rock she found that she couldn't move her feet. It was as if her body was glued to that one spot. When Amanda tried to cry out to Zoe it found that her voice didn't work. "You know I think I have change my mind. Perhaps I will take one more camper before the deadline. One by one I will take everyone you love."
At first Amanda thought it spoke inside her head but then she saw it. It was as if every nightmare and fear anyone has ever had become one. She knew this was Phobos god of fear. To her he was pitch black with a big black widow around his belly. Her greatest fears: the dark and black widow spiders. "well hello Amanda. Your stupid mother has weakened me. By sending that Annabeth Chase on to find that Athena Parthenos the fear of the Greeks and romans to each other have disappeared! Do you realize how much it has broken me? Well now I will get my revenge." By now Phobos was getting nearer and nearer to Amanda. Zoe didn't seem to notice either of them but she was in her own world of fear. Amanda was close enough to know that. Zoe would shake her head muttering "no... please no....... leave! No!" Phobos didn't seem to care in fact he seemed to gain energy from it. Amanda looked at Phobos head on not caring what may happen.
Then he jumped at her.
