Chapter 12: Amanda's nightmare
When everyone fell that's when Amanda's nightmare came. Nightmares. It started with her being back in her home with her dad, who like always had too much work that caused stress. The stress he took out on little 9 year old Amanda. He would beat her when she made a mistake or would yell at her things like "You're worthless. Stupid. I hate you. You are dumb. Just die already." Amanda remembered the words like a fresh wound reopened. The train melted into the background. She shrank so that she WAS 9 year. Her father, red in the face grabbed his belt and ran after her waiting to hit her, just because she left her clothes on the floor of the bathroom. Amanda tried to out run her father but he was faster. She knew what fear Phobos was trying to show her. Her father. Her father was one of her greatest fears. And she knew what she had to do to overcome her fear. She had to stand up to her dad. When her dad caught her, that's when the belt came down. Hard. It rapped itself around Amanda's arm, burning her arm even more. When her dad tried to pull it out Amanda kicked her dad away from her and with the belt in hand ran out the door. She ran to the neighbor's yard but just before she could reach the door the scene changed. She was now 12 year old Amanda sitting on her bed with a razor in hand. Amanda wanted to stop herself but she knew she couldn't. She was reliving the past. Nothing can change the past. One. Two. Three. Three cuts on her shoulder, the blood ran down her arm. At that time the background went back to the train everyone was gone from the cabin. All but Lizzy and Adam. Amanda fell to the floor. Phobos stood in front of her, laughing.
"Well, well this will be fun! So much energy. So much fear! It's wonderful." Lizzy started to get up and say something but Phobos froze her. "No, no now. Amanda must face her fear alone." An image of Amanda's dad stood in front of Phobos. He walked up to her with the same look that slowly killed her years ago.
"You're a stupid disgrace. What the hell is wrong with you?" Amanda had enough. Instead of staying quiet like she would, this time she would say something back.
"I don't care what you think of me. Your awful person and a worst father!" spat Amanda back.
"Don't you speak to me like that you witch. I am your father." The image walked closer to Amanda only inches away from her face.
"A father is someone that loves their child. Not someone who hurts them and hates them. I will never again be under your rule ever again." Amanda looked her father in the eye as she said every word. Then with her dagger she slashed at the image. Phobos let out a huff.
"Well, then. I guess my next test will have to be harder. Hahahaha. Have fun demigods." And with that Phobos disappeared. Amanda dropped to her knees as Adam and Lizzy ran to her side to help her up. They all sat down at their seat as everyone that was in the cabin before came in confused and dazed.
"Amanda what just happened, there was some green smoke and then we wake up to see Phobos and you on the ground!" Lizzy said as she got a wet cloth and put it on Amanda's head. She was burning up.
"Phobos.. to win... we must confront.... Our greatest fears..." Amanda said as much as she could without coughing in the middle but after a while gave up and ended up falling asleep.
Lizzy and Adam looked at each other and let her sleep
