My next class was math and to my relief, Adam wasn’t in it. I kept my eyes on the door for the first 20 minutes and when he didn’t show up, I felt a huge weight being lifted off my chest. He was so dangerous and cruel and mysterious all at the same time. But not matter how much I wanted to be away from him, I felt even more strongly about going to him.

“Okay, tell us what happened back there.” Seth said as he shut my math book. Our teacher, Ms. Lawson, gave us some time to do work.

“Hey, I was actually working!” I replied and tried to open my book. Seth rolled his eyes and gave Anna a knowing look.

“Oh, please Fall, you never work.” He snickered and took the book away from my hands and sat on it “Now, spill!”

I sighed loudly and told him what happened and what Adam had said to me.

“Damn, girl, you’ve got yourself an enemy; a hot one at that!” Seth whispered. I bent my head lower so I wouldn’t have to meet Seth’s crystal blue eyes.

“Yea.” I laughed nervously but what I didn’t tell him was that I didn’t want an enemy and I especially didn’t want Adam as an enemy. It looked like he could snap my neck in his sleep and that part scared me.

At lunch, I kept an eye out for Adam as I ate my lunch. My eyes grazed the crowd and I tried to seek out the boy but I couldn’t find him. Carefully, I took a bite of the school’s lasagne. Everyone always seemed to complain that cafeteria food was so disgusting but it actually wasn’t that bad.

“Looking for Mr. Winchester?” Anna wiggled her eyebrow as she stared up at me over her book. I have never seen her without a book, ever. Until that moment, I had forgotten that Adam was a Winchester.  I had forgotten that his family held secrets and that he lived in the fascinating house on the top of that hill.

“Um, no.” I lied and poked at my lasagne. I could feel the blood rush to my cheeks and I knew Anna could tell I was lying. I was never a good liar. Let’s just say, it’s better not give me top secret information.

“You can’t lie to save your life, Autumn.” She said with a laugh and I stuck my tongue out at her.

“Hey, where is Seth?” I asked and raised my head up to scan the crowd.

“Oh, he’s flirting with some kid he saw with a cute butt. He is a boy crazed moron.”

“Hey, he is our boy crazed moron.” I said. Anna gave me a sloppy smile before turning her attention back to the book. She was always the level-headed one in our group and Seth was the outgoing, crazy one.  But I didn’t know how I fit in or who I was in the group.

“Hey, Fall!” Someone called. I looked up to see Aiden walked towards me and I rolled my eyes. He was about to go overprotective, older brother on me. With a small groan, I buried my head into my arms and I could hear Anna chuckle softly at that.

“What?” I asked when I knew he was standing beside me. I could tell my voice was muffled and disoriented but I didn’t really care.

“What did that kid do? Am I going to have to take the soccer, football and basketball teams out on him?” he asked. Most people would think he was kidding but I knew better. He had done it before on my last boyfriend and it resulted in him leaving the school for ‘personal reasons’. My head popped out of my little cocoon that my arms created and glared at him.

“Do it and you are no longer my brother.” I said icily.

“Shut up Fall. I’m not kidding. That guy looked like he was going to kill you!”
