"You're up!"
I turned around from my window to meet my mother's gaze.
"I couldn't sleep I'm afraid."
"Luckily, I have the perfect remedy," she announced, walking towards me with a cup of tree. She set the cup down on the table, muttering a spell I could not hear just before her eyes glowed gold. She picked up the cup and handed it to me.
"A spell to help you sleep tonight."
I smiled softly at her as I lifted the cup of tea to my lips. Once I finished the cup of tea, I set it down on the table just as a wave of dizziness rushed towards me. I grabbed onto one of the chairs in order to maintain my balance before meeting my mother's eyes.
"This isn't some sort of sleeping spell is it?"
"No, it is not. As much as I admire your vengeance against Peter Pan, I can not let it get in the way of what is most important here. I need you to forget."
"Forget what?"
"Forget Rufio. Forget the lost boys. Forget your time on Neverland. Forget Neverland itself."
"There is no such thing as Neverland, the lost boys, or Rufio."
"Forget about your revenge on Peter Pan. Turn that revenge onto all those who have persecuted magic. Turn that vengeance onto Merlin."
"Merlin and those who have persecuted magic every year will regret doing so."
"Most of all...you must forget all about Peter Pan."
"I-I-"
"Forget about him."
"P-P-Peter P-Pan i-isn't r-r-real. H-He doe-doesn't e-exist. He's never been real. He's make believe."
"During the three years you were away from Camelot, you were held captive by bandits. They held you as their prisoner for three years. You were able to escape. You stumbled your way through the woods until you reached the knights of Camelot. They took you back to the castle where you stayed for the next three years until you became Queen."
"I was held captive by bandits for three years. I finally escaped and stumbled through the woods until I came across the knights of Camelot. They took me home, and I stayed there until I became Queen."
"Good. Drink this."
I reached for the goblet and slowly drank it, closing my eyes as I did so. The dizziness soon faded once I opened my eyes.
"Tell me, my daughter, who is Peter Pan?"
My mind went blank at the mention of that name. Nothing came to mind as I stared into my mother's eyes. I had never met anyone named Peter Pan. There could be someone named Peter Pan out there, but, as far as I was concerned, he did not exist. He was just a fictional character my mother made up for some odd reason.
"Why would you ask just a silly question? Peter Pan doesn't exist," I said, watching as a smile appeared upon her face. "Now, if you don't mind, I'd greatly appreciate it if we headed back to Camelot. I have a law that I need to decree as my first act."
"Of course, and how would you like to go back to Camelot."
"Same way I did three years ago."

I watched as my mother and her knights rode off into the woods. They were to enter from the back way of Camelot's castle. It'd be less than a day's ride from here. All I had to do was wait until I heard the knights of the round table approach. My mother had already ensured me they were headed this way. I just needed to play my part, and soon, everything would fall according to plan.
