*Flashback to 6/6/16: Nathan*
*Mason's POV*
"You're a chicken" was probably the last normal thing I said in my entire life. Nathan was right behind us, and my survival instincts told me to run, so I told everyone to do the same. I'm not a fast runner, but I ran the farthest. My uncle lived nearby so I knew the location of an armory nearby. I ran there, Nathan right behind me. I opened the door and motioned the people outside to come in. "Run!" I told them. About 50 teenagers, mostly boys but also girls, came in. I closed the door as soon as Nathan came. Most buildings were blown away in an instant, but the armory stood tall. Most people were traumatized and silent. They had given up on life. So i had to cheer them up. I stood on top of a box full of guns, which at the time, I didn't know would come to be useful. "Look guys, out there might be a mess. But we survived. We are not the only survivors, though. We have to live to find them. But that hurricane probably caused the apocalypse. And there will be bad guys out there. We have to be strong. We have a bunch of guns, lets use them!" I screamed, and they cheered. "We have a gun range in the back, i'll teach each and every one of you how to become a veteran-rank soldier." I told them. I went over to the gun range to teach them. After about 2 days of teaching them, I went over to teach this tall, scrawny kid that couldn't handle a gun at all. "Hold it steady, then shoot." I told him. "I can't." He said back. "What do you mean, you can't? Pull the trigger!" I commanded. "No! I can't! Im too scared!" He screamed as he burst flames. "Wha..." He muttered as the fire went under his command. "Monster!" One of the guys nearby training said. "Kill him!" Said another. I proceeded to shoot the kid on fire. "No Im not a mo-"he tried to say but got cut off by a bullet to the forehead. Just then, Emma walked in.
