Not My Friend, Not My Problem

We came back from saving Alexis. Mason still had her in his arms. The two leaders of the two main factions could not be seen working together, however. It would cause a rebellion, ending the world once more. That is why we hid while getting back to our safe house. Unfortunately, a group of 4 Brotherhood Soldiers found us on the way there. "Get out of there! We know you're here." One of them shouted. We got out of hiding. "Sh*t. Boss? What the hell are you doing with the Queen?" The other asked. "Don't ask questions, keep walking and pretend this never happened. "No. We can't! We have to tell them." I guess they lost their trust in the boss. They ran away. Mason tried pulling out a gun but couldn't while carrying Alexis. She was unconscious so she couldn't stand by herself. "No, I got this.." Emma said and apparently hypnotized the soldiers to come back. "Thats all I can do. Do I kill them?" She asked. "No, what?" I exclaimed. Its like she doesn't have experience with her powers at all. I stared at the soldiers. Forget this ever happened and walk far away from here. With their pupils dilated,  and their heads straight like robots, they walked the opposite way. We made sure not to encounter anybody else before getting to our destination. When we got there, Mason called us into a basement where a doctor/geneticist worked for him. I believe he studied conduits to be able to beat them. The doctor's room was a grey, abandoned room full of concrete walls and broken floors. The only thing that looked professional was the doctor studying a piece of skin on the counter with a microscope. Emma looked at Mason with disgust. He looked back at her with a face as if he was trying to say "I had no choice." He ran up to the doctor with Alexis in his hands, "Doctor Ruby, I have a wounded conduit here, this might be surprising but please save her!" He asked. He looked at him confused. "You want me to save a conduit?" He asked. "Yes, I'll let you examine her and take samples but please save her." Mason continued begging. "Alright" he answered. It was surprising to see how much he know about science, considering he only looked 22. "They injected a reaper leech onto her chest, it'll take some transfusions and a little bit of time but we'll get her back to normal." He explained. "Im going to need your blood samples to see which one matches the most with her, though." So we got blood samples taken and he examined them. "No way..." The doctor muttered as his enthusiasm in examining the samples increased exponentially. "These two blood samples have the same DNA!" He exclaimed. "Eureka!" He screamed in excitement. We were all confused, even Alexis, who was unconscious. "Who?" I asked. "You and Mason are twins." He said. What? "Emma's blood is the best match for Alexis so we'll be doing transfusions while you talk this out." Ruby followed. He then took Emma and sleeping Alexis into another room and Mason and I were deadly silent. "He...he's lying right?" Mason asked me in disbelief. "I don't know..." I said as I tried to remember. Then I actually recalled a story my mother had told me before, way long ago.
"He's right...."

*Mrs. Fullbringer's POV: Adam- 4 years old*
"Mommy, how was I born?" A.J[(Adam Jackson)Fullbringer] asked me. Little A.J was too young to know so I just told him a little story:
"Once upon a time, I met a handsome man at my sister's wedding. We both liked each other, so we started dating. A few years later, we got married, and on our honeymoon we had a little fun. I got pregnant with two babies. I didn't have money to keep both babies. So I kept one, and gave the other up for adoption.
You were the one I kept."
