The remaining twelve of us take off in a slight jog down the road, keeping the same pace along the way to god only knows where.

We have only been going for about an hour now, with very minimum contact with Infected, every now and then one would stray out of the treeline, but we easily dispose of it, not daring to waste a bullet.

Me, Samantha, Alec, Steven, Lou, Kelly, Luke, Brandon, Janet, Conner, Jude, And the teen I recently learned the name of, David continue jogging down the road as the sun starts to set, making the surroundings darker then they would be if the power wasn't out.

With the leave filled road, and the sun setting, it seems like there is no place to go until David stops, pointing ahead at a medium sized family home, that stands all alone on the side of the road.

We all cautiously approach the house, trying to avoid any trouble. I hold my Katana up, at the ready for attack, Sam has she bow drawn, and everyone else has their guns raised, ready to shoot if they must.

I reach the door first and wiggle the knob which is locked, I sigh and look at the others, "Alec, want to do the honors?" I ask, and he just nods, turning the gun safety off he places the barrel of the gun against the knob, and just when he does to shoot, David pipes up; "how about we use this.." he questions, holding up a key.

"Where did u get that" Samantha asks.

"Under the mat. Where else would you keep your spare key?" I smile and pull David in for a hug, which is just my lame attempt to try and comfort him from loosing his mom.

I unlock the door and swing it open, exposing a small white porch that leads to another door, and slowly we all file into the porch, closing the door behind us, locking it.

"On three." I start the count down to open the door.

"One, Two, Three!" I say the last number louder then I should, busting open the door and swinging the sword around, ready to attack anything that threatens me or my group.

Without having to be told all twelve of us scatter around the house looking for any threats, also securing the place while they are at it.

The living room is painted a light grey, with red accents scattered around the room, tying the place together. The room has a large flat screen T.V hanging on the wall across from a leather couch, the T.V is useless now anyways...

I notice pictures of the family that lived here hanging on the wall, the family consisted of a tall, beautiful girl with brown hair, must be the mom, and a tall guy, with a blue button up on, a white smile plastered on his face, my guess is the dad, and three beautiful kids, two boys and one girl. And a brown with shaggy fur. They all look so happy, I wonder what happened.

I hear a loud scream coming from the second floor, and take off up the spiral stairs, skipping steps as I ascend. I reach the landing to see Janet taking steps back, breathing heavily as she hits the wall, not daring to remove her eyes from the site in front of her.

Other join me, looking into the room, my eyes widen as I see the young daughter, feasting on the family's dog.

I start to gag as shivers climb up my back, giving me goose bumps. I slowly walk to the Infected girl, taking my sword I press it to the back of the girls head, getting her attention she starts to turn around growling, I drive the sword through her head and remove the blade, watching as blood stains the white carpet even more.

"I'll... take care of it.." Alec speaks up from the group gathered behind me. "Thank you.." I say as I walk out.

"Stay back!" I hear a breaking voice boom from the room next door, and I sprint to see Samantha standing in the doorway with her hands up. The teen son sits in the corner of his room, with a handgun pointed at Sam, tears streaming down his eyes.

The teen is no older then David, brown shaggy hair that is messed up from not showering in what seems like forever, then again I don't think anyone has, from his sitting position I'd say he is around 5'6, and looks so frail from being under fed, but yet there is a ton of canned goods stacked against a wall of the spacious room.

"It's okay, we're good people, we can help you" I plead with the boy, he may be a boy but he is holding a deathly weapon. I notice the boy looking frantically around at the people behind me, I look behind me to see my group all with guns pointed at the boy; "Guys... It's okay, you can put the guns away" I say to my group with wide eyes nodding.

"Okay, we put our guns away, now why don't you" I ask the boy, taking a cautious step toward him.

The boy shakes his head no; "Who are you?" His voice cracks from not being used in such a long time.
