3 weeks later

Humming a tune out of my nose, I grab an apple out of the fridge. Ever since that horrid day in the middle of November I have actually been doing quite well. I helped cook the large dinner for Thanksgiving and I have been hanging out a lot with Eli and Millie.

Millie has gotten so much better! It's honestly hard to believe she was the same girl that had gotten her heart shattered by my nuisance of a brother. She had stopped sulking about two weeks ago and started training again. She has her freedom glow back on her as well. She still has her moments though when mates from the pack had walked by, hand in hand and loving on each other.

I can't say that I'm not the same way either.

Placing the apple on the counter I waltz over to the silverware drawer and grab a butter knife. I also grab the peanut butter from the food cabinet and begin to slice my apple up. I pop one slice of heaven into my mouth when Millie bounds into the room with a bounce in her step.

"What's up with you?" I quirk my eyebrow up at her. She smiles at me and snags an apple wedge.

"I think, that we should go out tonight," she proposes with a mischievous glint in her baby blue eyes. I swallow a chunk of apple while I think about her proposal.

"Like to the movies?" I inquire. She shakes her head.

"Nu-uh. Like to a club," she states. At this, I almost choke on my apple. A club?! But won't-no. Stop. Don't think about him. I scold myself.

"Um sure-" I begin to respond until I'm cut off by the arrival of King Luka. Immediately my mouth snaps shut and my eyes revert back to my apple.

He clears his throat and speaks. I'm not too keen on what he's saying. Mainly because I'm singing a song in my head. Oh well.

I rock mom jeans, cat earrings. Extrapolate my feelings.

I glance at Millie who has an angry expression and is currently arguing with Eli. I guess he walked in when I was having a jam session in my head.

I tune back in at the wrong time.

"Oh yeah?! Well suck it!" Millie shouts at Eli and flips her hair over her shoulder.

"What?! No!" Eli screams back exasperatedly. I cover my mouth in attempts to stifle my giggle to no avail. The muffled sound bubbles through my lips at it's own accord. My eyes connect to a body leaning against the door frame. Luka stands there staring at me with a distinct hardness in his eyes.

I make myself stop laughing and clear my throat. I feel the silkiness of my hair as I pull it back behind my ear. Sending the last bite of apple down my throat, I decide to break up the argument unfolding in front of me.

The two wolves were so into the discussion, and so many cuss words were flying, even a sailor would be ashamed.

"Alright, alright! Break it up!" I attempt to shout over the couple. When my words go unheard by the two I take a gulp of water. Clearing my throat I prepare.

"HEY!" I bellow out of my lungs at an unholy volume. The duo shrinks back away from each other and cover their ears. I smirk.

"That's what I thought. Eli, back to what you were doing. Millie, up to my room. Now," I order to them. They scurry out of the room to where I ordered them to go.

I let out a breath and throw away the core of the apple. When I turn around I'm met with a strong chest. My mouth lets an 'oof' escape. My blue eyes blink, stunned. My head tilts back and I make eye contact with none other than Luka.
