Multiple thoughts race through my head. The pain in my heart spreads through my limbs and head. I groan clutching my chest. Not being able to hold on anymore, I collapse to the floor in a heap.

My breaths come out in pants. The door to my room in suddenly ripped open as Elias busts into the room.

"What's wrong Venus?! Venus!" he shouts. I can't say anything, but I grip my chest in agony. A growl sounds throughout the room. Eli's eyes are obsidian colored from what I could see through my teary eyes.

"I'm going to kill that son of a bitch," he growls out. Then Millie sprints into the room.

"Millie I need you to watch over Venus while I go kill Luka. Okay? Okay," he directs. I'm too busy writhing on the ground to laugh at his statement.

He gets up and stomps out of the room. Millie looks confused and overwhelmed as Elias rushes past her and down the stairs. I can barely hear her soft words as she comforts me. The loud bangs from downstairs overwhelm my hearing. All of a sudden the pain stops. Like someone let up on the gas. My body relaxes as I catch my breath.

Millie eventually sits me up onto the end of the bed. I swallow and lean my head back.

"Come on. You're gonna' want to see this." she murmurs and slings my arm around her shoulder. Grunting, I push myself off of the ground. I don't know what she wants me to see, but I'm scared.

I question for my wolf. She doesn't answer me, making me nervous.

We both trudge down the stairs. My eyes find themselves locked on the small circle of people. Eli suddenly busts through the ring with murder in his eyes. He launches himself back into the event. My brows furrow and I take a few steps forward. Peering in between the heads of pack members, I am greeted with a confusing sight.

Eli has Luka in a choke hold (surprisingly) and Luka has no shirt on with a pair of basketball shorts hanging low on his lean hips. A girl was standing on the sidelines with Lukas' shirt hanging on her tiny frame. I feel as though I was punched in the gut. All the air leaves me as I watch the scene unfold. Luka struggles to get air; like me. Though for a completely different reason. Tears blur my vision again. I cover my mouth with my hand as the harsh reality crashes upon me.

My mate was cheating on me.

That's why on the day of his birthday, I felt 'heartburn'. It wasn't that bad at the time because he hadn't marked me. But today was worse than ever because he marked me.

My loud sobs echo throughout the large room. Everyone pauses what they were doing and stares at me in horror. And by everyone I mean Luka. Elias stares at me with sorrow and sympathy in his eyes.

He knew.

The night of the party again. That's what he was going to tell me before King Luka interrupted. Oh my god. I start to hyperventilate the longer the eyes of everyone stare at me.

I spin on my heel and scramble out of the house. I run. And run. And run. I run until I shake. Until I collapse. Until I vomit. Until I can't breathe. I ran all the way past a pack; and maybe then some. My head shakily looks up when I hear the growl of a wolf. Our eyes make contact and I lower my head to look at the dirt. My hair falls in front of my face. I sniffle and accept my death.

But it never comes. The wolf gently walks towards me. I raise my eyes to look at it through my lashes. It's expression is blank as it watches me. It nudges me with it's nose; asking me to stand. I uneasily stood. The wolf shifts, revealing a man with blonde hair; his face is concerned.

"Ma'am are you okay?" he quizzes fuzzily. I chuckle crazily and shake my head.

"When has anyone been ever okay?" I ask with a lazy grin before I crumble towards the ground; the darkness greeting me.

My eyes crack open to reveal a male room. The walls are painted royal blue and various pairs of Calvin Klein boxers lay around the room. My nose wrinkles and I swing my long legs out of the bed. I internally groan, knowing that I am going to be interrogated again.

I twist the knob to the door and pad out to the hallway. The rooms seem pretty basically laid out. I follow the obvious pathways until I reach a office of sorts.

An older man sits at the desk, eyebrows furrowed. His head lifts up when he hears me enter. He shoots a warm smile my way. I smile nervously at him.

"Hello. I'm Alpha Jax. I know that you came here recently in seek of shelter. One of our warriors Kody brought you here. Do you have a reason to have come onto my land?" he politely asks. I take a deep breath and explain everything to him. He nods to show he is paying attention and his face contorts when I tell him the grotesque parts.

"What a jerk," he bluntly puts it. I laugh at his straightforward answer.

"That he is. That he is," I trail off. We sit in silence, him processing what I told him and I'm thinking about what's to come. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to his pack. It sucks because I have become such good friends with many of his members. I'm going to miss Millie and Eli. A lot.

Swallowing down the lump in my throat, I abruptly stand. Alpha Jax looked up at me with sympathy.

"You're welcome to stay here for as long as you want," he offers and I smile warmly at him.

"Thank you Alpha. I might have to take precaution and move a few states over," I thank. He nods his head and I turn to leave.

I guess it's time too look for a new home.

Hey guys! Again I'm super sorry for those who wanted that scene. But whatever. This is sort of just a short chapter to keep things moving because I have writers block for this story.

Thank you all for not rioting (I hope) and reading!

Love you guys
