Summer Love

Chapter 4

It's been a week since my dream. My phone has been glued to my side ever since. I have some hope that maybe just maybe my dream will come true.

"Megan!" I yelled "Are you coming?!"

"I'll be right there!" she yelled back. She came toppling down the stairs. Laura and I couldn't help but laugh at her. She was wearing her new high heels. Megan always wore the nicest clothes. Her wardrobe is just, wow.

"Come on" I chuckled.We're just going to lunch, why wear high heels?"

"You never know when you need to be tall, or impress someone." She winked. We rushed out the door and got in my car. Me driving, Megan in shotgun, and Laura in the back. Megan turned on the radio, and started singing. Coincidentally, she also has a beautiful singing voice. She's just so perfect.

I started singing along, and I actually sounded better than I usually do. Considering I usually sound like a dying cat. Laura started to reach for the buttons to make the top go down. I felt the heat of the sun on my hair, warming up my shoulders. It felt so nice.

12:50 pm

We arrived at our favorite café. We got a table and ordered our food. It was a lot quieter than normal. This place is usually packed. "Where is everyone?" I asked

"I don't know." Megan answered "this place is usually really busy." I looked over at the door and saw two boys walking in. They were wearing sunglasses, but they looked familiar. They looked the same actually, like twins. Then I realized it. They're Luke and Jai!

"Guys," I whispered "look over there. It's the Brooks twins."

"Oh my god, no way!" Megan and Laura choked.

"God, they're so hot." Megan exclaimed. All we could hear were them talking and the faint sound of music from the speakers all around the inside of the resturaunt.

We started talking about today, and how it was Mother's Day..

"I really need to call my mom today.." Laura began.

"I wish I could call my mom." I mumbled to myself. They both looked up from there food trying to figure out what to say. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.."

"It's completely okay," Laura said "I miss your mom too" she smiled trying make me feel a little better.

"Thanks, I'll be right back," I said "I have to use the restroom." I got up and walked down the hallway leading to the bathroom. I went inside and did what I needed to do. I looked in the mirror and let out a long sigh. I put on my lipstick and walked out the bathroom. Then, BAM! I ran into someone. We both crashed to the ground with a thud. "I'm so sorry!" I apologized.

"No, it's my fault. Here let me help you up." He replied. It was Luke. Oh my god. I stared into those big brown eyes of his, they're so dreamy. He stretched his arm out and helped me up. I tried not to fan girl.

"Thanks" I smiled. I walked back to our table and sat down.

"What just happened? I heard a big bang." Laura asked

"Well if you must know," I said "I just ran into Luke on my way out of the bathroom."

"Did he talk to you?!" Megan whispered

"He said sorry and then he helped me up. That's it." I sighed. We finished up and asked for the ticket. "I got it this time. You payed last time, Megan." I gave our waitress the money, and we left.

-back at the house-

6:00 pm

"Hey Megan, have you seen my phone? I asked

"You can't keep up with that thing can you?" She asked "but no, I haven't seen it"

"I can't find it anywhere." I sighed "try calling it." She dialed the number but I didn't hear anything.

-Luke's POV-

Buzz buzz buzz buzz. I felt the phone ring. Yesterday at the café I ran into a girl and she dropped her phone. I have no idea who she is or where she lives. "Jai!" I yelled "Come here!"

"What?" He asked

"The phone is buzzing, do I answer it?"

"Fuck yeah!" He exclaimed.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hello?" A voice said "Who is this?"

"This is Luke Brooks, Who is this?"

"My names Megan, but the question is, why the fuck do you have my friends phone?"

"I'm really sorry, but yesterday at the café, we ran into each other, and she dropped her phone."

"Oh" she said, there was a long silence.

"Well, can I talk to her?"

"Sure, yeah I'll get her."

-Maddie's POV-

"He wants to talk to you." Megan stated

"Who is it?" I asked

"It's Luke Brooks." My eyes widened. Why did he have my phone? Then it came to me. Yesterday at the café, we ran into each other. I extended my arm.

"Here, I'll talk to him." She handed me the phone. "Hello?" I asked.

"Hi" his voice just made me melt. It was perfect. "Listen, about returning your phone to you, I think we should meet somewhere in person."

"O-o-okay" I stuttered "where should we meet?"

"How about tomorrow at Starbucks?"

"That sounds great! What time?"

"Around 3:00? Would that work?"

"It's perfect, okay, I'll see you tomorrow then, bye."

"Okay, bye." We both hung up. I couldn't help but smiling.

"Well?" Megan questioned

"We're meeting tomorrow at 3."

"OH MY GOD!" she screamed. By this time we were jumping up and down, and just going crazy. "Okay, okay, so what are you going to wear tomorrow?"
