12:00 pm
"So what now?" I asked my boyfriend Luke as we walked out the restaurant.
"I don't know" he grinned as we swung our intertwined hands back and forth. "Let's just walk, because I'm still trying to figure out the very last part of your present."
"Whatever you say!" I skipped down the sidewalk. "Let's play a game!" I shouted.. A little too loud..
"Okay!" He shouted back "what game?"
"Umm, let's play 20 questions" I smiled
"Okay, you go first" I thought for a moment, nothing came to mind.. Then I got it.
"Okay, okay I've got my thing in my head. Now ask questions!" I demanded
"Is it an object?"
"Umm I guess so"
"Yes or no?"
"Yes" I laughed.
"Is it living?"
"Yes"
"Is it an animal?"
"No"
"How about... A flower?"
"Yes! But what kind of flower?"
"It's your favorite, isn't it?" he questioned
"Yes, yes it is! And that counts as one of your 20 questions!" I poked him
"I should know this shouldn't I?"
"Well I would hope so!" we both laughed
"Is it a rose?"
"Nope, that's too popular, too expected"
"Well, what does it start with?"
"It starts with an L" I looked down at the ground stepping over a piece of chewed up gum. Gross.
"Is it a lily?" He guessed
"How'd you guess so quickly?" I laughed "You only used like nine of your questions!"
"I'm just that good, babe." He winked
"Sure whatever" we both laughed. He suddenly stopped walking and looked at the street sign. He dropped my hand to pulled out his phone to type something.
"I'll be right back." My boyfriend took off running down the street.
Awhile later a very familiar, yet unfamiliar voice tapped on my shoulder. If that makes any sense at all. "Excuse me, miss" it said. I quickly turned to see a rather large bouquet of pink lillies.
"Awh, Luke." I took them and held them up to my nose to smell them. "How'd you know to get the pink ones?"
"Lucky gues-"
"You asked Megan, didn't you?" I interrupted
"Maybe" he laughed. I took a flower out of the bouquet and snapped it short enough to put in Luke's hair.
"You look gorgeous!" We both laughed. Shortly enough, he did the same to me. Now we had matching flowers in our hair, how sweet. "Okay," I grinned "what now? I mean you did say you were planning a surprise for me."
"Oh, that? That's already started." I gave him a confused look. "There's a clue on one of these flowers. It's on a little piece of paper tied around one's stem." I started to look through the bouquet.
"Ooh I found it!" I pulled out the flower and unfolded the little piece of white paper. On it was a well drawn picture of the beach entrance near our house. "I didn't know you could draw" I laughed
"I can't, but Jai can" he smiled.
"So I have I go to the beach now, right?"
"Right" he grabbed my hand and led me towards the house.
"What exactly am I looking for on the beach?"
"You'll see" we both stepped out onto the warm sand.
"Is that it over there?" I pointed towards something written in the sand.
"Go and see" he smiled. I walked over to the writing. It was a heart with a street name and number in the middle. "I have to go an set up, but Jai is here to escort you." Jai popped out from behind a bush. He quickly ran over and held out his arm.
"My lady?" He said taking me by the arm. Luke had already left. Jai started leading me down the sidewalk. we ended up going home first because he said I needed to change. Apparently Luke had told him the exact outfit to lay out for me to wear. A white skirt with black polka dots, a turquoise shirt, and black flats. "He really knows how to put together a great outfit." Jai took a step back to see what Luke had constructed. "You look gorgeous." he smiled. "Now let's go before we're late." Arm in arm we rushed down to the park. I saw Luke sitting on a swing.
"Hey" he stood up and grabbed me by the hand.
"Hi" I kissed him on the cheek. "What now?"
"I thought we could just walk." he smiled. "some treasure hunt, huh? I gave up on that, it was really difficult."
"It's alright, I'm not one for treasure hunts anyways." We started to walk down the sidewalk and into town.
