Chapter 18

"How are you feeling? Have you healed?" I ask Elena over the phone.

"Yeah I'm okay. Thanks to Klaus anyway" Elena says. Last night Connor, the vampire hunter, spiked the keg at the party Elena was at with werewolf venom. Klaus saved her life, thank god.

"See, he's not all bad" I tell her with a laugh.

"Whatever you say P" Elena says with a nervous laugh.

"Listen, I'm cooking dinner for you and Jer tonight. You better be home or I'm not going to be happy" I say to her in a teasing matter.

"I'll be there Penelope" She says while laughing. It feels good that Elena is feeling better and in a happier mood.

"Good, love you, bye" I say hanging up the phone. I go into Klaus's bathroom and pull my hair into a pony tail. I quickly get dressed and go downstairs to stumble upon Stefan and Klaus talking. They seem deep in their conversation. "Do either of you know where I put my birth control?" I question them curiously. Stefan looks at me curiously.

"Birth control? Don't you only have sex with like vampires?" He asks me curiously and a bit shocked.

"On the kitchen counter, your alarm went off to take it about an hour ago" Klaus tells me.

"I've taken it since I was like seventeen, I'm not going to quit now, and thank you Klaus" I say as I walk out into the kitchen. I quickly pop in my birth control pill and head back out to Stefan and Klaus. "So what are you guys talking about?" I ask them curiously.

"Just telling little Stefan here about the history of the five" Klaus tells me.

"Oh how Rebekah fell in love with that one hunter and stuff" I say as I join their conversation. Stefan looks at me weirdly.

"Well, you two rekindled your relationship quite fast" Stefan points out.

"Eh, were working on it" I say smirking up at Klaus. He wraps his arm around my lower back and pulls me into a kiss.

"So you just tell her all your deep dark secrets Klaus?" Stefan asks him curiously.

"She sleeps with me mate, why not?" Klaus asks with a smirk. "But you better hurry and get Rebekah here, before she does something stupid". Stefan nods his head and leaves.

"You know it will be hard to make up with Rebekah. You did a lot to her Klaus" I say as I put my hands on his shoulders.

"She destroyed my hybrid blood supply, she's the one that should be apologizing to me" Klaus insists. I give him soft eyes.

"She's your little sister, and your her big brother. She loves you and you love her. You will both need each other in the end" I say in a motherly tone.

"When did you become so fond of Rebekah?" Klaus asks me curiously.

"Well, I actually hated her. But she saved my life and she's misunderstood, you realize I am the keeper of lost souls" I tease him.

"That explains a lot" Klaus smirks. I walk into the room where Klaus is keeping the hunter. The hunter is there, shackled.

"So this is the man who tried to kill my sister?" I ask Klaus curiously.

"This is indeed the man" Klaus says. I look at Klaus and nod my head.

"Well I mean, he's one of the men in the room that tried to kill my sister" I say glaring at Klaus.

"Hey, we have moved past that. Forgive and forget, remember?" Klaus says to me with his hands up in defense. I let out a deep exhale.

"You're right. I'm sorry, I've been just, really angry lately" I tell him as I push a fly away curl from my face. He comes over and rubs my arms softly.
