Chapter 20

"Good morning sweetheart..." I hear a familiar husky voice say as they crawl into bed next to me. I open my yes and see Klaus looking at me, amazement in his eyes. I smile and don't say anything. He puts his hand on my lower back and kisses me. "You look marvelous" Klaus smirks at me.

"Thank you" I say tiredly as I smile happily at the sight of him.

"Where did you get this? It's very tempting" Klaus says with a mischievous look in his eyes. I can tell he is referring to my black nighty.

"Just something I picked up for myself a while ago" I say as my hand makes it's way to my shoulder. He quickly pulls me into a kiss.

"Well I love it" Klaus smiles, a smile he doesn't usually smile. I bite my bottom lip and quickly kiss his cheek.

"Come on, I'm going to make breakfast!" I say jumping out of bed excitedly. I grab Klaus's hands pulling him out of bed and leading him to the kitchen. I lean into the fridge and see a dozen eggs, some oranges, and some other fresh fruit. I pull all of it out as Klaus sits on a stool at the counter, admiring me.

"It is truly a gift to watch a woman as beautiful as you make breakfast" Klaus says in admiration.

"Why thank you. You know, I actually took a cooking class in high school, at one point I wanted to be a chef, but it really wasn't my true calling" I say as I begin to cut up some of the fruit.

"What is your true calling?" Klaus asks me intrigued.

"Still figuring that one out" I say with a laugh. "What are we going to do today?" I ask as I pop a strawberry into my mouth.

"Whatever you want to do today, love" Klaus smirks as he takes a strawberry and eats it.

"There is so much I want to do! I mean, shopping, eating, shopping while eating" I say as I grab a frying pan out of the cupboard. Klaus lets out a little laugh.

"You know, you truly are a tease, you know, walking around like that" Klaus says raising an eyebrow while looking at me in my black nighty. I go over and lean over the counter and kiss his lips.

"If you keep talking like that I won't get to do any shopping or eating" I say to him teasingly. I return to frying some of the eggs. "Do you want any eggs?"

"No thank you, love. I ate this morning" Klaus says as he leans on the counter a little more, looking at me with bad intent. I begin to attend to some fruit that I had been meaning to cut, but within a flash Klaus's body is pressed against my back. "But I'm starving for something else to eat" Klaus whispers into my ear causing me to shiver. I turn around and pull him into a kiss. He hoists me up onto the counter with his hands on my waist and mine on his neck. Suddenly his phone begins to ring. "Dammit" he breathes out as he reaches in his back pocket to get his phone. He answers it and begins talking to the other person on the other end. A smile comes across his face. "My people have found the sword, I will be back in a flash love" Klaus says planting a kiss on my lips before leaving. I just sit on the counter processing what just happened. Alright, that's cool that he just leaves. I get off the counter and make the rest of my breakfast. Suddenly one of Klaus's hybrids come into the room.

"Klaus wanted me to tell you that he will be a little while longer" the hybrid tells me.

"Thanks Fredrick" I say letting out a sigh as I put away the eggs. Fredrick walks out of the room and I stand at the sink all by my lonesome. I look down upon the Italian streets. The hustle and bustle of the city, it's amazing. Being a small town girl I don't really get to see this often.

"The window washer is going to get a good show if you keep standing by the window like that" I hear Klaus's voice say. I smile comes across my lips.
