Jason's pov

I have to get out of there. How do I do that?! I'm still in shock. I was the wrong. The whole time I was wrong. She does love me. Man, she's good at hiding stuff from me. Suddenly the semi floods with light, nearly blinding me. I've been encased in darkness all day. I squint in the sudden light. Just as suddenly as it comes, it's gone. "Who's there?" I call. "Who do you think?" She whispers, walking over. It's too dark to see her but I'm sure she's beaten up. I can't think of anything to say. I feel her arms wrap around my waist in a hug. I hold her carefully because of the burns on her legs. I know the abusers weren't careful. "Are we gonna die?" She whimpers. I don't know. But I don't want her to think that. "No, of course not. I'm gonna get us out of here. I promise." She looks up at me and I can see the colors of her eyes again. "What are you thinkin', sugar?" "Only you can call me that, Jason." She whispers, kissing me. My eyes go wide then gently close, my grip around her waist getting tighter. We're gonna bust out of here tonight.

*later*

I can hear the kidnappers snoring in the cab of the semi. I feel around for anything I can use as a weapon. I find a piece of metal or something. I can't really tell. It's too dark. I grab her hand and run to the door. "Let's bust out." She says, smiling. I love seeing her smile again. I wedge the piece of metal in between the door and floor, wiggling it around to hopefully open the door. She grabs my arm. I stop because I hear shuffling at the front. I hold my breath then he goes back to snoring. I give it one final tug and it pops loose. "Yes!" I gasp. I jump down and help her out. "Oh Jason you saved us!" She gasps, hugging my neck. "I told you I would hun." I let her ride piggy back because of her legs. I font know where we are so I just run into the woods. She rests her head on my back. I love her so much. And I'm so glad I admitted to her that I love her. We reach a road, me breathing heavily. She stands up. I hold her hand. It's a long interstate. We lock eyes. "We certainly ain't in Macon anymore." I whisper. We start walking along the side of the road. "I wonder where we are." She says. I stay silent since I've got no idea. "We should rest." I say instead. I notice her legs are weak and shaking. I pick her up, bridal style and walk into the woods. I lay back against a tree with her in my lap. Both of us falling asleep.

*hours later*

I hear footsteps. I force myself to wake up. "Who's there?" I choke out in a whisper. Leaves crunch underfoot. "It's okay son, remain calm." "Who's there?" I repeat, trying to stand up. A flashlight shines in my face. "Are upu Jason Williams?" He asks. I squint in the light, holding her to my chest. She's still asleep. "It depends on who's asking?" I say, trying to act tough. I hope it's not the kidnappers. "I'm just a police officer on the search team." He says, lowering the light. A cop! "Yeah, I'm Jason." I say, thankfully. He smiles. "Come on, son your friends we worried sick." I notice he didn't say dad. I sigh and resituate her. My dad doesn't give a shit. We get to his squad car and he drives us back to Macon. All our friends instantly swarm us with hugs. "Dude, we all thought you were dead!" Thomas cries. "Nope. We made it." I smile down at her. She runs over to her dad and he hugs her tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay." He says. "Thanks to Jason." She says, looking back at me. Now everyone is looking at me, making my cheeks blush fire red. She runs back to me and jumps into my arms. I fall backwards in surprise and we're in a heap on the floor but laughing. Then she shuts that up by kissing me. I hear the guys gasp but I don't even care anymore. I am so happy right now.
