Jai and I were so thrilled. Today... 8th of December, we can finally bring Adelaide home. But I'm having doubts, I mean... I hardly know her and this is a pretty big step for Jai and I. Is this the right thing? Are we ready? I hear my room door open and shut causing an awful thud to pound my ears. I felt sick to my stomach. I jolted around to only see my beautiful boyfriend with a small box in his hand. I quietly paced up to his warmth and comfort.

"Jai, are we ready for this?" I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.

"I don't know, I thought about it and did some digging, she has family somewhere here, her aunty has been looking for Adelaide's mother", Jai clarified.

"Really, that's good news", I beamed.

"Maybe we can adopt her, but help to find her family for her", Jai suggested.

"I think that's a great idea",I agreed.

Jai and I hurried to the car downstairs, we carefully entered the Lamborghini and seated ourselves comfortably. I gaze my eyes upon the small box Jai was holding in a tight grip.

I softly questioned him, "What's in the box?" My eyes fluttered at the box and back to Jai's eyes.

"Oh... this is a gift for Adelaide", he grinned.

"Oh how sweet, may I?" I asked eyeing his hands.

He passed on the cold fabricated box into my hands, I carefully unwrapped the ribbon and took a peek inside. It was a beautiful necklace with three pendants. The left with the engraving of 'love', the right with and engraved picture of a bird family... and the middle with a lovely outline of a family tree with Adelaide's name etched on the bottom. (Picture on top... or on the side, depends whether this is read on a phone or laptop. The engravings are different though).

"This is beautiful", I kissed Jai's cheek and wrapped up the tiny box and paced it onto Jai's lap.

I leaned my head onto Jai's shoulder and looked ahead, the sky was a pale blue with very few clouds. It was like there was a feeling inside me, telling me that something bad is going to happen, I tried to shake it off but it stuck there like glue. As we arrived at the child services, we made our way into the building and with our heads held high. As we walked into the room we gasped at the sight of a woman embracing Adelaide into a hug, as the woman let go of Adelaide we could clearly see her face, Jai gripped my hand.

"That's the aunty", Jai murmured.

"Oh... she found her", I choked.

The lady looked over to us and grinned as she walked over.

"You guys must be Revon and Jai, I'm Adelaide's aunty. I just wanted to clarify that if you still want to adopt Adelaide, I won't stop you, if not then I'd be glad to take her home", she explained.

"Oh ok, it's great to meet you... um do you mind if you give us a sec?" I asked with full patience.

"Sure thing, just call over once you've made your mind", she strolled over back to Adelaide.

"Well she gave us a choice, I think that the right thing to do is to give Adelaide a chance to be with her family", I advised.

"I think you're right. It is the right thing to do", Jai admitted.

We nodded slightly and wandered up to the lady who held Adelaide very dearly in her arms. I took a deep breath and tapped her shoulder, she quickly pivoted around to face me. She had a warm kind smile on her face that made me feel like I'm making the right decision.

"We've decided to l-let Adelaide go home with her r-real family", I stuttered.

"Really, are you sure? I know that you two have a spacial bond. I don't want to come between that", she echoed.

"Yes I'm sure, it's the right thing to do", I blurted.

The lady just smiled and enveloped me into a hug, she was warm and so caring, she let go of me and then embraced Jai into a hug. She grabbed two boxes and gave them to us, it was beautifully wrapped in red like celafain foil topped off with a violet like ribbon.

"What's this?" I questioned astonished.

"This is a gift for finding my niece... and helping her so she wasn't alone. Most people wouldn't of done much or even talked to her, but you did, and you saved her. I am completely greatful for you two", she cried.

"Oh wow, thanks so much, and you're a most welcome", I almost teared up.

Adelaide looked up at my gift box and suddenly enveloped my hips into a hug, I could feel her smile form from one end to the other. She gazed up at me and whispered, "Thank you, I love you Revon".

She shuffled towards her aunty and took off out the door, I felt a tear drop crawl down my face as if trying to escape a hell hole. I suddenly felt empty, but I was happy that she was happy, I was happy that she loved me... because I loved her back, she was sweet and a very caring soul, she made me feel special. I cherished those words she last said to me... 'I love you' I couldn't put my feelings into exact words, It felt like I had this void inside me that needed to be filled. I was going to be ok, I was adjusting... that's all. I spun around and threw myself at Jai, I hugged him for what seemed like forever, enduring in his warmth, scenting his strawberry flavoured lip balm with a pretty beautiful scented cologne. I punctured my nails into my sleeves and looked up at my lovely boyfriend. We nodded in agreement to head back home, we held our hands and walked outside to the car and smiled at the decision we had made. It was the right one. If Adelaide is happy... then we are happy.
