obscurity (Bill Temple)

i stand alone in the ocean of people

glances now empty stares, even though

i speak a friendly voice

i am now, no one's choice

where once my life was filled with

joyous laughter

an empty chapter

i'm standing deep

in a rising sea

the shoreline fades

end of days

i am just a fleeting moment

the universe has turned its back on me

the music's stopped, the party's over

i was someone once, but now I see

this is my destiny

obscurity

i walk alone through the desert of empty dreams

wayward words scream by on the breeze

i keep my thoughts now to myself

memories back on the shelf

where once my life was filled with

happy smiles

now endless miles

i'm walking through

this empty zoo

theres no one here

no one who cares

i am just a fleeting moment

the universe has turned its back on me

the music's stopped, the party's over

i was someone once, but now I see

this is my destiny

obscurity

i lay beneath the black, empty sky

even the stars and moon now hide

my tears will not subside

i float in the rising tide

where once my life was filled with

voices many

now copper pennies

i'm floating high

black hole sky

this empty place

with no escape

i am just a fleeting moment

the universe has turned its back on me

the music's stopped, the party's over

i was someone once, but now I see

this is my destiny

obscurity

a dark, empty void now surrounds

there is no right or left, no up or down

i cannot feel, i cannot breathe

i hear nothing, i cannot see

Where once my life was filled with

life a plenty

friends so many

i was proud

but i see now

this empty prison

is my given

i am just a fleeting moment

the universe has turned its back on me

the music's stopped, the party's over

i was someone once, but now I see

this is my destiny

obscurity
