After I ended my broadcast, Lydia and I began face timing. We accidentally hung up on each other a few times, but we instantly called back. All and all, we ended up talking for about three hours before it started getting late. But we didn't stop talking then. After her mom told her to get off the phone, we started texting.

We talked about random things, some were funny, some were serious. My favorite thing about talking to her was that she didn't get easily offended when I used sarcasm, she replied with more towards me.

I sent her a goodnight text a few minutes ago. Now I just lay here, my hands behind my head, and my eyes focused on the ceiling.

Our conversations rolled through my head, and a large smile etched itself onto my face.

I turned onto my side, my eyes falling shut. I caught myself in the middle of a yawn. And soon enough I was fast asleep.

---------------------------------------------

Reluctantly, I opened my eyes. The light coming in from the windows was bright, causing me to squint. Once I was still; and focused all my attention into my hearing, there was no sound throughout the house.

I went to get up, but the second my feet made contact with the carpet that lined my bedroom floor, my ringtone blared through the room. I jumped at the sudden sound, and reached for my phone.

It was my mom. "Hello?" I mumbled into the speaker. My morning voice was so raspy it even surprised me.

"Weston." My mom sighed. "I've been calling all morning! Are you just now waking up?" She asked sternly. I stared at the wall absent minded, my mouth slightly open. I shrugged to myself.

"Yeah." I mumbled. I could hear her gasp on the other end of the phone, and I rolled my eyes subconsciously.

"Weston Koury!" She yelled. I pulled the phone away from my ear, cringing slightly. "Do you have any idea what time it is?" I could just see the frown on her face.

I glanced over at the alarm clock on my bedside table, the top of it was covered in a thin layer of dust. I haven't touched the thing since I got my first iPhone. I didn't need it for the purpose of waking me up anymore.

My eyes widened after I glanced over the faded red numbers that flashed across the screen. "Four thirty two?" I asked more to myself. Either way, my mom heard me.

"That's right, what were you doing all night?" She asked demandingly. I opened my mouth to answer, but before I could even get a word out, she spoke again. "Not sleeping, that's what." I sighed. I didn't go to sleep till about six in the morning, I was texting Lydia last night. Let's not forget about the couple of hours we spent on FaceTime. I quickly thought of a lie.

"I wasn't sleeping, I just don't feel good." I heard her let out a quick, quiet laugh.

"You just told me you woke up. Don't lie to me." I groaned, and decided to try and completely ignore the conversation all together.

"Ok, sorry. Where are you? I'm hungry." I sighed while laying back down. The cold enveloped me with open arms, and I instantly pulled the covers over my body. Rejecting its invite.

"Um...were shopping." She mumbled. I could tell by the lack of interest she had in this conversation, she was rummaging through something.

"What for?" I asked yet another question. I heard her sigh on the other end, and I stuffed half my face into the soft blanket.

"What else would we be shopping for this time of the year?" She retaliated. I could sense annoyance in her voice, and I chuckled to myself.

"Groceries." She didn't say anything for a long time, and I felt my mouth stretch out into a smile.

"Go get something to eat, and your not staying inside all day!" She yelled. We said our good byes, and I began my decent down the stairs. The house was cold, and I found myself wrapping my arms around my shoulders to keep warm.

There was little to no food in the fridge, causing me to groan as my stomach rumbled. I walked back up to my room, pulling on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.  I walked into my moms room, taking twenty dollars from her dresser.

The weather outside was colder than it was inside, and I tugged on my sweatshirt. My warm breath created fog due to the cold atmosphere, and I watched as it slowly dissolved.

A small group of kids from my school rode past me on their skateboards, they waved at me and I returned the gesture. A thin layer of ice coated the ground, and I wondered to myself how they didn't fall.

Even when I was little I always marveled skateboarders. No, I didn't wanna be Tony Hawk when I was older, I just wanted to be able to ride one. I always loved watching someone's face after they completed a trick correctly for the first time. It was literally like watching magic happen right before  my eyes.

My mom bought me a penny board last Christmas, and I have yet to ride it correctly. I sighed at the thought, and found myself in front of the grocery store.

More people walked past me as I strolled through the shelves of food. I looked for something small and cheap, but kept my eyes on the things that would hold me off till dinner.

I finally just settled on buying a large box of coco puffs, shrugging my shoulders as I picked up the box.

Once I paid for the box of cereal and had made my way outside, my phone went off. I pulled it from my pocket, checking to see who was calling me.

My eyes widened once I saw Lydia's name show up on my caller I.D. I attempted to clear my throat by coughing continuously. Once I was sure my voice would sound ok, I pressed answer.

        "Hello?" I said into the phone. There was a little bit of static over the other end and the sound made me cringe. Finally, she answered;

"Hey!" She said with enthusiasm. The sound of her voice made me smile while I kicked bits of ice away from the sidewalk. "Are you busy tonight?" I felt my heart rate speed up, and I swallowed the lump forming in my throat.

"No...I have absolutely no plans." I said, then mentally face-palmed myself. I made it seem as if I never have plans, like I'm always cooped up at home. Which is definitely not the case...at all.

I could hear her laughing. "Well good. I just wanted to ask if you wanted to come to the movies with me?" She said. I opened my mouth to respond, but she beat me to it. "My friend Madison cancelled on me." She finished.

I waited to see if she would say anything else, but instead there was dead silence. "Uh...yeah. I'll go to the movies with you." The words rushed out of my mouth before I could even process what I was saying. I was just so caught up with the fact that she even wanted to hang out with me at all. It gave me butterflies and I honestly wanted to skip back home while belting out Carly Rae Jepson.

"Yay!" She cheered. "Ok, just meet me at the mall entrance at eight... ok?" My mouth felt dry as I nodded my head. I soon realized she couldn't see me, and mumbled a shy 'yes'.

"Ok, it's a date then." She said with a laugh. Before I had the chance to even say bye, the sound of the receiver cut through.

I pulled my phone away from my ear, and stared down at my phone screen in shock. I bit the inside of my cheek, but this time I finally let my smile break through.

I chuckled while mumbling, "Lydia...you never stop surprising me."

A/N: HI!👋🏻

So I decided that (starting next week) I will come out with a new chapter every Monday, and if it's not up by then it most likely will be up on Wednesday.

I just think it would be easier if I gave myself a schedule...you know?

Until next Monday💁🏻
