Chapter 22

(Dottie's POV)
I woke up and walked downstairs.
"Merry Christmas!" Alesa and Adam said.
"Wait... It's Christmas?!"
"How could you miss the best time of the year?!"
"I don't know. Let's open presents."
I opened up the presents under the tree. I got Headphones, Some Minecraft Stuff, And some clothes.
"Aw... Thanks guys..."
"No problem." I took the stuff to my room and walked back downstairs. I looked at the tree and had a flashback.
*In Flashback*
"Can i open a present early?" I said.
"No." Dad said.
"Look in the stocking." Mom said. I looked in the stocking it was a phone. i squealed. Dad got angry. He ran to the tree and tackled it. Momma backed me up and ornaments hit the ground. He kicked one of my presents down the hall. He yelled at me to go to my room. I ran crying. I listened to him scream at mom, through my sobs.
*End of flashback*
I wa in Adam's arms. My face wet with tears. He brought me to my room.and put me on my bed.
(Adam's POV)
Dottie came back downstairs and stared at the tree.
"Dottie? You ok?" I asked. She collapse."Dottie?!" I got up and looked at her. She sat up and look at me. I squatted beside her. She was crying. I hugged her and she continued to cry. Alesa aslo sat down beside her and hugged her as well. When she calmed down, I picked her up and carried her to her room and put her on bed. When she finally spoke.
"What happened?"
"You fell to the dfloor in tears. What happened?"
"I had a flashback..."
"Well what happened in it...?"
"I don't really wanna yalk about it..."
"It's better to let it out then to keep it in..."
"Yeah we won't judge you." Alesa said walking in.
(Dottie's POV)
"You promise?"
They shook their heada and i looked down. I told them what happened in my flashback.
"He was sober too..." I said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well the last day i was there.He was drunk yelling at me. He smashed my glass desk and did this to my foot..." I show them the small scratch on my foot.
"It's almost healed." I look up to Adam staring at my foot.
"I'll be back..." Adam got up and left.
"See! This is why i didn't wanna tell you."
"I don't think that's why he leave..."
"Why did he leave then?"
"I think it has something to do with his father."
