I couldn't believe it. As he told me about his life i stood in shock and utter disbelief.
"Adam... I'm so sorry..."
"Don't blame yourself... it's not your fault... it's no one's fault... except mine..."
"Adam... or dad.. or whatever you wanna be called... it's never EVER your fault... I feel so bad... You've had to deal with me but you've had it wayyy worse... I'm so sorry... I've been such a burden..."
(Adam's POV)
"Dottie... You've been one of the best things in my life... right next to Alesa and Mason... You've helped me through some of my moments..."
"You really mean that...?"
"On my life..."
She got up and hugged me.
"I don't want you to go through what i went through... Especially since you have ADHD and i know how bad that can fuck you up..."
"When can i meet your family...? You know the one that adopted you...?"
"Soon..."
Her amulet glowed again, and i had a tiny fleeting thought in the back of my mind that i hope will never ever happen.
She might die...
