We can do this! - Chapter 20

Growing up it was Just Antonio and I. It was nice. It was just as, and he's a great brother. He has always been there for me. My parents always wanted me to go to law school or medical school. That was always their idea, and dream for me. I thought about med school for a while. I love helping people. It has always been something that was close to me. After I graduated from high school, I knew where I was going to go. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I became an EMT. It's all I wanted to do. I knew that it was the only way that I could work up to going to med school. At the time I wanted that. Things change. I ended up becoming a firefighter. I wouldn't change any of that. I kind of miss it sometimes. I like being home more for my kids. It's important, especially to me. 

I was ready for bed. It was a great time, but I was ready for bed. I was waiting for Matt to come home. I walked into the living room where the kids were playing. It was nice. I remember when that was me and Antonio. I walked into the living room, and sat down " Ok Girls... time for bed!" Shay looked at Maria, and then over at me " Daddy's not home!!" I looked at her " He's on his way home... but we have to get to bed." Maria added " but.. I want daddy to tuck me in.." I looked at them " How about Daddy will check on you when he gets home.." They all went upstairs. I went into Shay's bedroom first. She smiled " I love you.. mommy!!" I kissed her head " Love you too! have a good sleep.. okay!" I tucked Maria in and then got Andy to bed. All the kids were in bed, and silent. It's a nice feeling. 

I went downstairs to lay on the couch. I turned on the TV, and just passed out. It was a tiring night, that's it. Matt walked inside and set his things down. He walked over to the couch where I was still sleeping. He looked around the living room " I'm home! Gabby!" I was still asleep. He walked over, and spotted me on the couch. He smiled as he saw me asleep there " Gabby! baby i'm home." I woke up with Matt standing next to me. I looked at him " hey.." He laughed " tired.." I laughed " I got the kids to bed.. I might have just.. crashed here!" He laughed " must have.." I looked at him " so how was the job.." He nodded " Good... let's get you upstairs.." I nodded " Good idea!"
