Surprises- Chapter 38

This chapter will be in Matt's POV

Surprises are a great thing. It's always great in my mind. Life is full of them. You just never know. If you look at your life it's not always what you expect. There's always a different path. I know when I look at my life, I see it differently. Being a firefighter that was always there for me. I knew that was my path for sure. It's all i've ever wanted. Growing up I needed that. I needed to look forward to something. That was that. I was around a firehouse here and there growing up. It was kind of my rescue of a place. It gave me something to look forward to. I graduated and from there, I went into the fire academy. After that it was all history. I was a candidate and then moved on up. Now I look back as a lieutenant, I remember those days. 

The biggest surprise and the best surprise crossed the job. It's way more than that though. It's just so much more. I met Gabby. We were just such good friends for years. Working at the same house that happens. We have together for 8 years now. We've been married for 6 of those year. Those have been the best 8 years of my life. Today I'm surprising Gabby. I'm happy for that. She deserves so much and I just want her to relax. I want her to enjoy these last couple days we have here. 

I watched her every move as she woke up. It seems creepy, but I don't mean it this way. She just looks so cute sleeping there. She looked at me, catching my eyes on her " Were you.. watching me sleep.." I smiled and laughed " no... not at all!" She laughed " Yeah..ok!" I laughed " Well... I have a surprise for you today.." She sat up in bed, and started to stare " I'm listening.." I smiled " well.... couples massages!" She smiled " really..?" Matt smiled " Yeah.. you deserve it! We deserve to spend our last couple days.. relaxed!"
