For the past day, there had been nothing, but, sorrow amongst the group. Maggie hasn't stopped crying, since she saw Daryl carry out Beth's limp body. Noah blames himself; as do you and Daryl.

Thoughts, during Beth's ceremony, came rushing to the surface. How Daryl was/is so devastated. How you feel like you failed the entire world.

Every night, Rick would pick a place alongside of the road, which the group would sleep. A few days ago, Rick, Daryl and Glenn spotted two vans. They surrounded it to make sure it was safe and they took them.

Just yesterday, he decided you would all go with Noah to Virginia, to find his family. "It was secure. It has a wall, homes, 20 people. Beth wanted to go with him. She wanted to get him there. It's a long trip, but if it works out, it's the last long trip we have to make." Rick explained to all of you.

"And what if it isn't around anymore?" Glenn said. "Then we keep going." "Then we find a new place." Michonne said, softly.

All of you agreed with Rick and hit the road. Hours later, you looked out the window and saw a sign that marked, 'SOUTH CAROLINA- 221.' You sat in the back of the van, which Tyreese was driving. You stared out the window, for what felt like forever.

-

"How far out?" Rick asked Noah, sitting in the passenger seat. He looked over at the mileage reader, "Five miles."

Rick picked up the radio and spoke, "Hey, Carol." "I'm here." "We're halfway there. Just wanted to check the range." "Everybody's holding tight. We've made it 500 miles. Maybe this can be the easy part." "Got to think we're due. Give us 20 minutes to check in." "We don't hear from you, we'll come looking." "Copy that."

You stared back out the window, as you heard Noah say to you, "I've been wanting to tell you something." "What's that?" "The trade. It was the right play. It worked. It did work. Just something else happened after." "It went the way it had to. The way it was always going to. I just didn't see it." "I never wanted to kill anybody before."

"I've wanted that. But, it just made it so, I didn't see anything except what I wanted. I wasn't facing it." "Facing what?" "What happened, what's going on. My grandad always told me that it was my duty as a citizen of the world to keep up with the news. When I was little and I was in his car, there were always those stories on the radio. Something happens 1,000 miles away or down the block. Some kind of horror I couldn't even wrap my head around. But, he didn't change the channel. He didn't turn it off. He just kept listening. To face it. Keeping your eyes open. My grandad always called that paying the high cost of living." "I lost my dad in Atlanta. I think he would have liked your's. Still got mom and a couple of twin brothers. I hope." "I hope so, too."

Noah looked at the mileage reader, "Two more miles." "Alright. Let's pull into the woods. We'll go on foot. Stay off the road." Rick told Tyreese. "We don't need to." Noah said. "Just in case."

-

Tyreese pulled into a clearing in the woods. Glenn opened the back door of the van, as you hopped out. "This is good. Through the trees, it might just look like part of the wreck." Rick said, hinting to the other two cars. He turned around, meeting a walker snarling from inside one of them. "It's this way." Noah said, as you all followed him through the woods.

"Your people do this?" Michonne asked, approaching a wire maze. "Wanted to. They must have." Noah said, making his way through, before nicking his forehead on one of them. "You all right?" Rick asked him. "Yeah. Yeah."

You made it to the edge of the woods and stopped. "They have spotters? Snipers?" Rick asked Noah. "We built a perch on a truck. Sometimes it's out front."
