♕ chapter 31 ♕

♕ Diana

I woke up with the worst headache ever. Last night I spent most of my time with Trey and we just had a great time together before we get married today.

After getting up out of the bed and going into the connecting bathroom to brush my teeth the girls busted into the room.

"It's your big day!" The girls chanted making me smile big.

I can't wait to finally say I do to the man of my dreams today around noon.

"Yay, where's mama April?" I asked them making my way to her room.

"She's out getting breakfast right now but she wanted us to tell you that she'll be right back to help you get ready." Tammy told me making me nod my head.

"But for now we want to tell you about what we have to deal with in our marriages." Rochelle said leading me to the living room where we all piled up on the couches.

Out of all the girls that are here Tammy and Rochelle are the only ones married. Melanie & Bianca are in relationships also just not married.

We sat here and discussed all of the things their men do and all of the things their men don't do. It was quite a interesting conversation. Tammy and her husband like to argue all the time. Tammy likes to take control and be the boss of everything whereas her husband likes to take control too. As you can see they don't mix well and that's why they argue. What makes them perfect together is the fact that they would do anything for each other. They're both two hard working people and they work perfectly together even though they bump heads sometimes. Rochelle and her husband on the other hand are more along the sweet side. They've been together since highschool and they still treat each other the same way. Rochelle's husband likes to treat her special and make sure that she has everything she needs. Rochelle makes sure he never goes to sleep without a home cooked meal and she takes care of their three year old son. Both of their marriages work out perfectly even though they both sometimes have disagreements. I guess every relationship has its up and downs but only the real relationships last. Trey and I definitely have a strong relationship and we're bound to last.

"What do you guys do to keep your marriages interesting?" I questioned them once they got done telling me their stories.

"If you two truly love each other and belong together then the marriage will never get boring." Tammy said making me nod my head in understanding.

"I don't know how y'all do it. Marriage is too stressful for me." Bianca said throwing her hands into the air.

"It's not really stressful at all. It's only loving your other half." Rochelle told Bianca.

Bianca nodded her head.

I was about to ask another question when we heard the front door open and the sound of April's voice.

"Where's my daughter in law?" she called from the front door.

"We're in here auntie April!" Tammy called back to her.

We heard her footsteps before she appeared in the doorway.

"Ladies we have to hurry and get to the church so hurry up and eat!" April snapped handing us bags of food.

I didn't waste no time digging into my food before I felt April tug on my bag.

"Don't eat too much we still want you to fit into your dress." She stated making me shake my head and giggle.

After we were all finished we got dressed and headed to the church where we are having our wedding.

"April?" I called out for her as she stood outside of the door.

"Yes honey?" She asked peaking her head into the doorway.

"Can you zip my dress up?" I questioned her.

"Of course." She replied back smiling and coming over to where I stood in front of this huge mirror.

We have less than half a hour till the wedding begins and I must say that I'm slightly nervous. This is something big and I'm scared that I'm gonna mess this up.

"Are you nervous?" April asked coming and zipping up my dress.

"Yes, can you tell?" I asked her raising my perfectly arched eyebrow.

She nodded her head. "Just take a few deep breaths. Everything's gonna be alright, you two belong together." She stated putting her hands into my shoulders.

I did what she told me and took a few deep breaths. I feel a little bit better.

"I have something for you." She said going over to the bag she brought into the church.

"What is it?" I asked out of curiosity as she brought out a maroon colored box.

She opened it leaving me in shock as I stared at the beautiful diamond necklace with wide eyes.

"It's so beautiful." I murmured lowly.

"It's beautiful and it's yours now." She said taking it out of the box.

I shook my head rapidly.

"Nope, I cannot take such a beautiful gift from you. It looks expensive and I'm not taking it." I said sternly making hand gestures for her to put it away.

"You must take it, it was my mother's necklace and her mother gave it to her when she got married. I've never worn this necklace in my life because I've never been married and you're getting married now so you must take it. It's tradition..." April practically begged.

I sighed before agreeing to keep it.

"It's a tradition and I don't want to break it so okay, I'll keep it." I responded to her making her face light up.

"Turn around so I can put it on you!" She exclaimed excitedly.

I did what I was told and turned around. She slid the necklace onto my neck making me look up in a mirror at it.

"You look beautiful with it on." She said having me agree with her.

"Thank you." I said lowly.

"I always knew you were the one that was gonna marry my son. I use to tease him about it all the time saying you were the one." She smiled reminiscing about the past.

"Now you're finally marrying him and you're gonna be my daughter-in-law." She said patting my back.

"You've always been my daughter..."
