Ch. 3:
After Coach Dainy’s intense cardio plan for this afternoon, I’m out of breathe and completely exasperated by the time we are released. I stand in front of my locker fumbling with the damn lock; it’s like trying to decode a seriously intricate riddle. I finally get the stupid lock off and yank the flimsy metal door open to find a small note lying lazily on top of my cloths. Hmm odd, couldn’t be from Mari because she would’ve just texted me. Ah which reminds me; I reach past the note and grab my phone. I’m popular today apparently. Three text messages stare at me angrily, I open the first one no shock it’s from Mari.
I’LL BE WAITING BY YOUR CAR! YOU HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!!
Oh great the rumor mill got to Mari. I ignore the text and move on to the second one from Aunt Helena.
NEED GROCERYS!! No surprise, she cooked all the food this morning, I send a quick reply back and move on to my final text from a random number I don’t know. I hope it’s not one of those prank things, they always piss me off.
READ MY NOTE. And that was all it said. I scowl at my phone and reach for the note lying on my cloths and flip it open.
Meet me tomorrow at the Midtown Creek

How the hell did he get my number? Mari. Even weirder though… how did he get into the girl’s locker room? I tuck the letter into my backpack and set my phone down on bench behind me. The girls from my class are piling into the bathroom to reapply their makeup and what not, so I take this as my chance to hurry and get dressed. I rip off my gym cloths and shove those in my back pack as well and pull on my jeans. Bared in my bra I’m tapped on my shoulder and I turn to be greeted by Angelique… first thought; of course she talks to me while I’m in my bra… second thought; cover boobs.
I lift my arms and cross them over my chest and wait for what I know will be some snide remark about Zane.
“So you’re pretty lucky, paired up with the new guy and all.” She says sweetly.
“Depends on your definition of lucky.” I say in curiosity. She doesn’t take time out of her precious day to speak to people below her social class, so I wonder why start now?
“Well,” She flips her perfect hair over her perfect shoulder, “Rumor has it he got into a fight with Porter… over you.” She smiles wickedly. So much devious thoughts running through that pretty little clueless head of hers. I mean yea… it happened but I’m not going to tell her that.
I smile and point to my locker where my shirt lays body less, “Can I finish getting dressed without your perversions?” I ask sweetly.
“Well I’ll take that as my cue to leave, but before I go…” She taps my locker with her perfectly manicured nail and smiles… again. Oh for the love of fucking hell, is today make a mockery of Avery day? “Just enlighten me of your relationship with him?” she finally spits out. I roll my eyes and turn to my shirt, giving up on changing in privacy, and close my locker.
