Tommy knocked on Baileys dorm and got no response. He got on Instagram and decided to lurk her page where he saw she went out showing more skin, makeup, and looking good.

"How I let that pass me by?" Tommy said to himself. He reluctantly got on snapchat and loaded her snaps and watched them knowing she would see him watching. Tommy saw an unknown number pop up on his screen and answered it.

"Wassup who dis?"

"Tommy this is Bailey can you please come get me off warren? Please I'm sorry" Bailey said crying.

""Warren and what? What's the address?"

Tommy got in his car and his heart race as he sped on the freeway to Bailey. He pulled up and was totally confused as he helped her into the car. She had jumped out of the car where the man held the gun and Bailey completely bolted hiding behind cars and trucks and avoiding dogs. She knocked on several doors until she found a willing person to let her see a phone.

"What happened?" Tommy said looking at Bailey who had open cuts on her arms, her hair was wild and dressed was dirty, legs bruised up and cut up.

Bailey laid back in her seat and tried to breathe. She was crying hysterically and could barely spit it out.
"Bailey talk to me." Tommy asked worried.
"Fought your ex, bar got shot up,ran off and thought this man would help me so I got in his car and he put a gun to my head and I ran."

"You got in a random niggas car!? Bailey why would you do that!?"

"I had no choice I thought he was gonna take me back on campus but he didn't."
"Where was Crystal?"
"I don't know."
"Anything could've happened to you on those Detroit streets Bailey. And why were you fighting?"
"Because of your out of control ass ex." She said wiping her tears.
Tommy was taken aback. It was so out of Baileys character to get hood and ratchet like that.
"What happened that made you do that?"
Bailey didn't reply and Tommy got mad.
"I need explanations."
"Did you fuck her?"
Tommy swallowed hard.
"Is that what set you off!? You just had a gun to your head and you--" "Did you fuck her Tommy!!?" "Two weeks ago yeah, why does it even matter?" "You just don't fucking get it!" "Help me get it Bailey because I don't wanna do anything else to jeopardize our relationship."

Tommy's heart raced thinking of how very bad things could've happened to Bailey this night but she dodged all of them. He felt his mothers spirit.
"Do you mean it?" "Yes...but let's get you to the hospital." "No thank you all I need Is rest and some band aids. "

"Imma kill the nigga who did this to you. Fuck!" Tommy said angrily. He hated that Bailey was touched and that some fool had the Audacity to put a gun to her head.
Tommy took Bailey back to his dorm to clean her up. Tommy had a tough surface but on the inside he was caring and gentle. Bailey continually flinched as Tommy used peroxide on her wounds and put bandages all over her cuts and cut feet. He couldn't believe the wounds on Bailey and got pissed off.

"RJ was right about her.' Tommy thought thinking about Indigo. He really wanted to know what had happened to the sweet girl he loved so much. 'Why you do this Indigo.' Tommy gave Bailey a big t shirt of his and basketball shorts for her to wear after she showered. Tommy's heart raced thinking of what the mans intentions were with Bailey. What he could've done to her.

"Thank you so much tom I know what I said to you was fucked up--" Bailey said crying as she say Indian style on Tommy's bed and Tommy hugged her.

"I'm not tripping off that shit. I was wrong." "I just need to know this....what do you feel when you're with me?" "I feel good." "So why did you make me feel used?" "That wasn't my intentions."

Being this close to Tommy made her hot and made her heart flutter but it sickened her because she just felt like Tommy would never feel what she felt for him. "Again...I appreciate everything." She said getting off of the bed preparing to leave.
"Wait where you going?" "All throughout high school I was overlooked and always third choice to the pretty girls with long weave and expensive bags and nice bodies. No matter how beautiful I am on the inside and how good I am to people...I'm just never the one that people fall in love with. I'm not the pretty it girl that niggas will put on a pedestal...no prom date, no dates at all, no real boyfriends. It got to a point where I didn't care about getting hurt. Everything was lies and I would know that but it felt good to be....or feel....wanted." She started, "it was painful but it was just how I kept sane you know? But then I met you and felt strong feelings like never before. But oddly my feelings for you made me gain feelings for myself too and...I just don't wanna set myself up for failure. With everyone else I could bandage the pain but with you...it hurts unbearably."

"You seriously felt that way about yourself?"  Bailey looked down and stood silent. "B you're the sweetest coolest girl I've ever met, I can't believe you don't see what I see."
"It's crazy how I said the same thing to you...bye tom." Bailey said opening the door until Tommy got in front of the door and stopped her.
"Why do I hurt you unbearably?" "Because..." Bailey said hesitantly. "Say it." She looked up at him and into his eyes as love rushed in her. He leaned in and kissed her cheek. "I'm gonna go to my dorm now." "Let me take you." Bailey was hesitant. She felt like Tommy was only being sweet because of her circumstance; she felt like he was just going to do the psame shit to her in the long run but she was afraid to walk alone into the night. "Ok."

Tommy took off his jacket and gave it to Bailey. There was so much he wanted to say to her but he didn't know how to say it.
"I never wanted to contribute to your insecurities, I'm so sorry b." "You only did what I allowed you to do." "What you mean?" Bailey said nothing. "Nah we not about to do this B, let's talk."
"You should know what it's like to ignore and dismiss people when you don't wanna be bothered with because you do it all the time." "I'm sorry I really am but you upset differently. Just say how you feel--" "no because it doesn't even matter."

Bailey said walking straight and not looking at Tommy. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. "Tell me." He said eye to eye with her. "Let me go, no." "Tell me." "No." "Tell me." He said pulling her close. "No Tommy." "Can I stay with you tonight?" "Nah." "Please?"

Bailey realized she was a sucker when it came to Tommy. She didn't want to be alone for one and for two she wouldn't want to be with anyone else besides Tommy.

They sat in Baileys dorm on her bed in silence. Bailey turned off the lights and laid down.
"I don't know what i would've did if something happened to you." Tommy said, "Imma try my best to never make you feel like...you know...irrelevant to me cus you not."

"Just lay down Tommy. Tomorrows a new day and fresh start."
Tommy laid down next to Bailey and tried his best not to touch her at all. Her soft warm skin and sweet scent turned him on.

She put her arm around him and got close feeling safe. She truly felt like Tommy cared about her but there were some things he had to get right internally.

"I won't be able to sleep." Tommy said. "Why?" "Because its hard laying next to a beautiful smart woman." Bailey secretly smiled but Tommy could see that bright smile in the dark. "So...what do you wanna--" "I just want you to tell me like stuff in your childhood that...shaped you into you." "That'll take forever." "I got time."

Bailey admired his efforts and spilled away as Tommy listened. They spent all night just talking about dreams and growing as human beings. Tommy didn't want to say much he just wanted Bailey to expose herself; as she did, Tommy realized why besides the smoking and chill vibe that he was so drawn to Bailey. She wasn't like other girls she was so sweet and highly intelligent. She was artsy and vibrant and just a beautiful being with a genuine heart.
