Ryann sat at the funeral as she leaned on her pained brother. Tommy never wanted her to be off of earth, the world was a better place with Indigo in it. She was beautiful and under all the debris that tainted her soul, was a beautiful spirit filled with laughter and love.

He saw Indigo's parents sitting in the front and he saw red. All of this was their faults. If they would have loved her properly she wouldn't have self destructed. Tommy felt a load of guilt and kept telling himself he shouldn't have gave up on her.

"Tommy listen bro...." Ryann said in her brothers ear, "you did everything you could she had to save herself."
Tommy hugged his sister tight with his body and head hot.  He reminisced about Indigo's spirit. The type of person she was before she left. She still had an asshole father but she was sweet and feminine and always smiling. She was so free and free spirited. Tommy now wished he gave her the time of the day when he was upset with her. He wasn't in love with Indigo anymore but he still cared about her and he let his anger and disgust and resentment get in the way of that. He was crushed and couldn't believe that Indigo was gone.

He kissed her casket as they closed it.
"Ball in heaven for me Indi." Tommy said tearing up. Tommy felt like that beautiful soul did not deserve to die how she did or at all for that matter. He reminisced on the support Indigo gave him, the confidence, and the love. He sat down and buried his face in his hands. It was too soon for Indigo to go.

'When she cleaned herself up she would've been a role model.' Tommy thought as his tears fell. He lost his friend and he couldn't even fathom how she went out.

"They shot her like she was nothing Ry...." Tommy said. All images of her got inside of his mind. Her smile and her kinda deep voice. He wished he could get those three years he missed back. He cared about Indigo dearly. He felt like he was robbed of time with her. He felt like their time together wasn't enough at all. Just like his mother, he had a good brief time, then all of a sudden the times were snatched and stolen. Now all he's left with is memories.

'Why I ain't get those three years....' Tommy thought as his heart crushed more and more.

After the funeral everyone gathered outside and Tommy and Ryann walked to the car and Ryann had her arm hooked on her brother. Seeing her lifeless in a casket broke Tommy's heart. Seeing her vibrant full of life face just dead killed his spirit.

"Thank you for being you Indigo," Tommy thought.

"Tommy!"

He heard a voice and turned around. It was Indigo's mother Patrice and her face was red with tears.

"It's uh...it's nice to see you I haven't seen you in a while."
"Nice to see you too Mrs. Riley."
"You were probably the best influence on her--"
"Thank you."

Tommy kept it short with them. They were the root of Indigo's pain. She was never good enough to them.
"Why is he even here?"

Tommy heard that deep, scruffy voice and got disgusted.
"I should be asking you the same thing."
"What was that lil nigga?"
"All you ever did was dog her out."
"You saying this my fault nigga!"

Indigo's dad raising his voice only set Tommy off further. He already deeply disliked him but this just gave him a reason to react.
"you shouldn't have never fucked my daughter! You ain't shit but another--"
"I loved Indigo and that's more then you ever did for her!"
"Muthafucka--"

Tommy immediately punched Indigo's dad in his nose and completely let all his anger out on him. If he loved his daughter she wouldn't have searched for that love elsewhere. Tommy felt like Indigo's dad is the one who destroyed her. Indigo's dad was the one who was suppose to shower his daughter with love but instead he dogged her out and made her lose her self esteem. He got on top of him and continually punched his face until Ryann and many others pulled Tommy off.

Old people praying for the madness, kids and adults crying, and people highly upset that there was a fight at a funeral.

"If you really loved Indigo nigga you wouldn't have did that'!" Her mother said holding her husband as a group of people stood between him and Tommy.

Ryann pulled out her Mace just in case one of these grown folks tried to sneak her brother. Tommy's adrenaline was pumping and he saw red. Ryann literally pulled him away and into the car. Multiple people shouted at Tommy and were in Absolute shock that this teenager just beat the shit out of a grown man. It was wild.

Ryann decided to drive as her brother calmed down in the passenger seat. He took the water bottle out of his cup holder and chugged down hard on it. Ryann held her brothers hand. He turned on some Future-wicked.

"You ok bro?"
"Yeah I'm good."

Ryann gave him a pound. He understood why RJ and Bailey declined but they sent their remorse and condolences. They had their issues with Indigo but definitely felt like she didn't deserve to die and were over their issues.

Tommy was so happy he had his little sister by his side. He's seen a lot of broken girls, one of them being their own mother and Indigo and he was glad his sister wasn't one. He promised himself to always let his sister know that she's precious and valuable, and that no matter what she does he will always be there for her and protect her from who and whatever. He felt his sister beat every stereotype set up against black women and he loved the person she is and becoming. His sister was his heart and no man will ever be good enough for her in his eyes.

"Thanks for coming wit me sis."
"Of course Tommy Bunz."
